I don't recall CNN being on any of the digital terrestrial multiplexes. Are you in fact a  digital cable subscriber ?

which version is it best to have then...soooo confused :'(

Does changing to a newer version involve un-installing the old version first?

the new version adaware se is the better version.

adaware version 6 had an update problem, ie it would never update your info file, unless you did it manually, then when you ran update again it overwrote it with the old info file......

you dont need to uninstall adaware 6, as the adware se will realise you have it installed, then uninstall it before installing itself

adaware also appears to run much faster than adaware 6......
smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to.... ;)

Ermmm.... It depends on if Lavasoft will stop supporting Adaware 6. If you are no longer receiving updates for Adaware 6, you mayh have to download SE to get the latest updates.
There should be an option to uninstall the older software whilst installing the new..

Check out the support forums before you do anything; http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/

If you click the link provided initially Download new adaware SE link
the new installation takes you through the uninstall reinstall process just by clicking next at the appropriate times.

The new version is much better than the previous version. I had cleaned up my system using the old but updated version yesterday but the new version still found a further 88 critical objects which hadn't been picked up by the previous version or Spybot.

Just installed AdAware SE and run it. Eeeeek ::) It found 73 items that the old AdAware 6 missed. Many thanks for making me aware of this ;D ;D ;D

  • It may be coincidence but immediatelyafter downloading the latest version of Adaware se(1.04) I lost my version of firefox. All I get is a window saying (amongst other things)The default version of Firefox cannot be loaded as it is already running(Not).I have set up a new version however all my settings are gone. (Other than I.E.) Any ideas what could have happened and would there be any way to retreive anything. sorry if this seems garbled but I did not know how else to explain.I am running XP..
ps Does windows update not work if I run Firefox as Default browser?

I got my info from a recommended download site. I have tried Ad-aware se version 1.03 and also Ad-aware se version 1.04 (Definitions File SE1R7 06.09.2004). It all depends upon which download site you pick. I don't think they are yet in sync around the world. I applaud lavasoft's efforts and the dilligent reporting of MSE contributors such as your self.

The scan found nothing as I use Ad-aware at every boot and have a mean attitude towards cookies and other crap.
