Good morning everyone
Brrr it's cold here this morning. After listening to the weather report we decided to set the central heating to come on this morning, it's bad enough for OH having to be up and out for 5 30 without him having to go into a freezing bathroom first thing.
I'm afraid I didn't quite make zero yesterday. I had my hair cut ( but that was already planned) but a new little pound shop opened on our local shops. They are all independents and I like to shop locally if possible. I spent £2.38 which wasn't too bad.
I will try better today
Have a good day everyone

Morning all and welcome secretstasher.
Don't beat yourself up about the spend Ericadawn, if it's needed it's needed. I used to spend a lot on kitchen towels until I learnt to crochet and made a load of reuseable ones with a cotton type yarn. I got the idea from the Down-to-earth blog. Perhaps with your super duper knitting skills you could whip a few up.
Sounds like you have good ideas JackieO. I love a bit of DIY.
Cuddlymarm my heating went on too, is freezing.
It's meant to be day 4 of fiscal fasting but I have had to bring my shopping day forward. This is a planned spend so perhaps I shouldn't count it as long as I stick to the list and don't get extras.
Have a nice day everyone.:)1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

spent the morning sanding down my wooden thingy. Then made 3 litres of curried parsnip and apple soup using up some left over parsnips and a few odd wrinkly apples Its delicious and warming .I shall have some tonight as I swapped tonights dinner (veggie curry & rice) to lunchtime as I will be later home from DDs as she has some photos to take for work (she's and estate agent )
so tonights meal will be HM soup and a small ham salad. used up the parsnips and apples and have several cartons left over to use this week.I can't freeze them as my freezer is full.Still I can have it as a starter for dinner, or at lunchtime with some crackers and cheese. As I curried it ,it will be nice and warming as the weather has turned chilly today and the temps dropped to around 6c
Well done chums with the frugalling0 -
The fiscal fast will start again tomorrow. Shopping done but this was budgeted for but earlier the door went. It was the window cleaner who I have been planning to stop asking to go around he back. He had already done the front so I had to pay this month (£7.00) but told him I couldn't have him again. He uses one of those silly brush on a pipe gizmos which leave spots all over the glass.
There is another one who works locally who uses a chamois and ladders and gets them done nicely. I think I will give it a couple of months and get him in.
So day one again tomorrow, hopefully for 14 days.:eek:1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Evening all, hope everyone's had a good day. you have certainly had a busy one, Jackie! Well done on the DIY - I used to be keen, but not so much now. Your meals are sounding similar to mine - had some curried lentil and apricot yesterday, leftovers today cooked down with veg to make a curry! Looks a bit like a school dinner but tastes OK.
Parsnip, cars are a pain are they not? At least you have a good idea of what the bill will be.
got rid of my window cleaner last year when he went up to £15 - we have a lot of windows but that's just a bit too much. Wish I was better at window cleaning though.
Decided today I would do my food shop - OH wanted me to go into town for him and as it's a 26 mile round trip, I didn't want to go twice in two or three days. Avoided the coffee shops although I was very tempted, so I can have a guilt free one with DD on Sat. while she is here! Tomorrow will be a NSD, I'm working, then I'll be out of the FF (but still watching the pennies) until next Thursday, when we're back from our break. Kept the food shop to £20, including cat food, so quite happy with that. £40 left for the rest of the month if I'm sticking to £100 this month .
Forgot to say, welcome Secretstasher, have fun with this and interpret your own way.
Erica, don't worry! You're thinking about your spending which is the main thing.
Oops, got to go and finish dinner. Bye for now.0 -
Hello all! Thank you for forgiving me for my slip up. I'm feeling a little low and sad as my Cerebral Palsy is making my muscles hurt!! I have had a few really bad muscle cramps in my legs that almost bring me to my knees and bring tears to my eyes. I'm not used to the leg cramps hurting that much!!
I was given a gift certificate for a little place that serves wraps and other things, so I am going to grab my adult tricycle and take myself to lunch.
I think my cat understands that my Cerebral Palsy is bothering me because, she slept on my legs all night!! I think animals know when we are sick, sad, discouraged etc...They are blessings from God!!
Thank You all for forgiving me of my slip-up.I may have to sit down and knit when I get home.
I am thankful my Cerebral Palsy doesn't affect my hands much at all. Knitting for me is healing.
Take care FF Friends, from across 'the pond'. ((HUGS))Frugal in '14!!!! God Bless all of You!!! Frugal = 'Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without!!!'-Saying from the Great Depression in the US 1929-39. Love you, Erica Dawn0 -
Well that's my shop done. Purse is locked away, apart from money for stamps for some letters I have to post tomorrow, they didn't have any at the supermarket. I have spent today putting some menus together for the week.... Did about 3 rewrites lol. I am going to bake tomorrow for oh, I am dieting so won't be making anything that I like, no temptation and all that. Hopefully will make some chutney too as I was given a lot of tomatoes and have everything else in that I put in.
You are all really inspirational with what you do and how you keep on track. Hopefully I will have a successful week, but will post daily .0 -

Sorry to hear you're feeling down Ericadawn. I hope you start feeling better soon.
I wouldn't worry about the spend, we will all be doing it now and again. Let's face it we have to rebel occasionally.
Hope you had a nice lunch and a good old knit.

Hello Friends!! I am feeling a bit better although, my muscles are still hurting. (Oh Well!) I have a gift certificate to a nice little coffee shop, that was given to me by a friend so I took my trike and went and got a hot chocolate. Doing that lifted my spirits. A friend also gave me some coupons for my grocery store. All of the coupons are things I need.
I won't use them until, I need to. But I also have to make sure that they don't expire either. That would be money wasted.
After looking through an old book of poems I had written as a teenager I came across one I had written in memory of Princess Diana. (I'll always consider her a Princess, no matter what others say!!)
I had a crazy idea to type it up on my computer, print it out and send it to Prince William. But I am sure he would never get it in the mail, or he may not even care. I'll just save it for myself.
A friend brought over four packages of sausages, (spinach and feta cheese, and mushroom and swiss) I have put some in the refridgerator and the others in the freezer. It should tide me over for a while.
I went to the bank and took out some money to put away for an emergency. I keep a small bit at home just in case our ATM doesn't work and I need cash.
You can do it Secret Stasher!! (LOVE THE NAME!!) We are all here for you!!
