Using a Telephone Whilst Driving

999 is for emergency calls only!
Some people would consider a ton of metal going at, perhaps, 50 mph, without proper guidance to be an emergency.
Who would you prefer to be driven by:
1) Someone who was just over the drink-drive limit?
2) Someone who is sending a text?
Driving whilst using a mobile phone should result, on conviction, in an immediate ban in just the same way as driving over the limit. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
Someone pulled out in front of me at a roundabout the other day. I nearly t-boned her. She was chatting on her mobile. Didn't even bother looking to her right as far as I could tell."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

There isn't one. If you're taking such care, this is obviously not about you.0 -
I can't understand why people still do it.
I have Bluetooth set up, and if a call comes through i can take it, but to actually text or up date your Facebook status. omg, screenie the update and report to the police, because unless people are caught doing it, they are going to carry on thinking it is ok for them to do so and the law doesn't apply to them.
I have a friend on fb that did a status tell me what you think of this, was she driving?
i'll block out the f word..im shakin fumin. a wonen come threw the the f***in green light and nearly hit r (childs name) and me. i feel so sick. thankgod hes ok. x x0 -
An idiotic trollop last night was talking on her phone while driving. The road was down to a single lane because of road works and she sat at the traffic lights, letting them go from green to red three times before she moved on.
She then drove at erratic speeds (very fast, then very slow) and stopped at a red light at a roundabout, only to drive through it anyway, and then mess up her lane placement and nearly kill a cyclist.
I considered calling the cops but I didn't know if it was better to call 999 or the new number which I've forgotten.0 -
At a conference of the countrys leading accident investigation specialists including police, the conclusion was that the most dangerous driver on any road and the one most likely to cause a fatal accident is one who concerns themselves with other peoples driving habits.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. i'll block out the f word..
now after this, i think she was driving..
Was who driving? Your friend or the women she was complaining about?
I would suspect you friend was on foot because if she had been in a car she would have said 'nearly hit us', rather than the childs name.
Unless, of course, she is a "won't somebody please think of the children" type who always tries to accentuate any threat by pointing out a child could be hurt. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

What a fatuous conclusion. (Or did you just make it up - a link might help).
How could they possibly gather the data required to make such a determination?

No, I presume she was walking.
She states a car came through a green light, last time I checked the green light meant go.
I reckon your friend was attempting to cross the road without waiting for the lights to change to red.0 -

I wondered about that but I assumed she meant that a car drove across their path when they had a green light as no one is going to expect sympathy if they were, themselves, crossing against red. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0
