I did move the USB receiver to the front of my tower PC as I sometimes got problems recognising clicks with it plugged in the back. The tower is below and to the side of the desk the mouse sits on..

Can I chip in and ask - What is the approximate range on a Wireless Mouse?

A couple of years ago I had laptop plugged into TV. Best I got was between 1 and 2 metres.

Depends what's in-between the mouse and the receiver.
I can hold my mouse several feet away from the computer, the other side of a brick wall and it still works.
I moved the receiver from the back to the front of the computer because I thought maybe the metal case and electronics were interfering with reception. It did improve things.

    Hi

I have the same mouse. It's ok but sometimes it locks up. Good points: turns it self off when not used for a while and still works when dropped on the floor.

It's good value but my next mouse will probably be a Logitech (I use a Logitech keyboard and mouse combo with my desktop computer)

Playing devil's advocate here, but why wireless? Unless you are using your laptop to stream movies to the TV and the like, the laptop will be near enough (on your lap) to use a corded Mouse - which doesn't need batteries, dongle or software.

Logitech here too. My mouse appears to be indestructible and batteries as said, last ages.
The other thing, for me, is the size of the mouse. I only have little hands and this model feels just right - many are too big and clunky for me.

I have a Logitech M235, have had it for about 6 weeks, and absolutely love it. The battery (an ordinary AA) is supposed to last a year, probably helped by the fact that they do not bother making the laser beam visible. When we plug the laptop into the TV we can easily control it from the sofa which must be about 8 feet away. It is also a very comfortable shape.

Just thought I'd test it out of curiosity.

Still worked fine at just over 9 metres.
