I did look the company up thank you very much I knew where it was before I applied as I stated I made an error and misread the original advert and thought the buses ran earlier in that direction because I am human and I make mistakes.
I never said you didn't know where it was thanks I said why are you only preparing for it now when it is tomorrow.

Only got told of the interview late on Friday evening and why prepare days in advance meaning I'm likely to forget things I want to say.

I had already looked into the company and person spec but was revisiting to make sure everything is fresh in my mind. If I did all of it Friday evening or before I applied likely hood is I'd forget things in between seeing friends etc and since I apply for lots of jobs.

Yes but surely preparation a day or 2 before is better than a week before when you're likely to forget things in a week.

Considering it is a telesales/sales admin role, not sure how much prep is needed for that.

I did start prep for 1 job a week before as knew it was going to require some technical knowledge on a specific subject, depends on the job really.

Do you think the employer might think your attention to detail is lacking with the start time mix-up ?

Would that put them off ?

I spent a few days resreaching one of my interviews. How many sites they had, what else was in the groups portfolio, who owned them, how long they had been going, the recent merger with another USA group, the rebranding of the group, the new executive chef they had just taken on, the new company name that was going to be launched later in the year etc.

I was asked what I knew about them at the interview and I told them all this to which they were very impressed and said you'd be suprised that we see a lot of people who know nothing.

Sorry but I always do my prep the night before a job interview, puts me in a certain frame of mind and also helps absorb the information while I sleep!

It depends on the way you work, some people need to prepare for things ages before, do things a bit at a time OR you can be a last minute person and thrive on the stress! I think it also depends on the type of job e.g. a one of interview in a very familiar role where you have a lot of experience with interviews OR a series of interviews for something you have never done?

OP situation sounds as if they know what they are doing and I wouldn't mention the travelling thing until interview stage anyway, sounds a bit presumptious to me AND a perfect "do you have any questions about the job etc" question! OP: as for the situation it depends but I would reckon if you were their first choice it wouldn't be a problem at all :)

Edit: And I reckon you should get off here, carry on prepping and stop justifying what you are doing to people who aren't really helping
There are few people whom I really love, and still fewer of whom I think well...
