Oops made a boob when applying for a job.

I applied for job 16 hours a week over 2 days, now when I applied I misread the hours and thought it started at 9am which is I can do.

However I have just revisited the advert to help prepare for the interview I have tomorrow and have seen the hours at 830am-530am. I rely on public transport and the first bus gets me to the location at 850am.

Now I assume there is an hours lunch break so would it be worth going to the interview and mentioning the issue I have with transport and see if I could negotiate 30min lunch and start at 9pm, knowing I could be rejected but it will be interview experience but another rejection to handle.

Or would it be best to call tomorrow morning to see where I would stand regarding hours to save wasting the employers time?

I don't think there is any reason that you can't ask, especially if you can make the time up in your lunch hour. Of course, they may refuse but it is not an unreasonable request. Where I work you are permitted to request to start later if you have to get small children to school/other family commitments etc.
On another level though, does it not restrict your job hunting if you can only go for 9 am starts?

I can start earlier and finish later but this position is in a rural village not in town.

You are not being unreasonable requesting a 9.00am start and if the worst comes to the worst and you don't get the job, at least you have had some experience in trying your hand negotiating. Good luck.

In that case they are unlikely to be able to recruit all their staff from the local population and they must be aware of the transport issues so I don't think it is unreasonable, especially if you point out that your only option is to use the public transport.
The only objection I can see is if there has to be staff cover at that time, if for instance the place is open to the public/customers and your job would be dealing with customers. They might reasonable be able to ask that all staff be there on time.

I would wait to see if you get an interview first then you can ask before you attend. If they say no you know at least your application was good enough to get the interview and you have lost nothing. Don't tell them before or they could just dimiss the CV/application.

the OP has an interview tomorrow and only looking up the company now?? Maybe you are not prepared enough.

When did you know you had the interview?

Maybe the job includes opening the office so they may not be able to change the times

and maybe there's someone there she could share a lift with if appointed, if it's that rural, she won't be the only one travelling in. Prepare, go, give it your best shot, then if it looks as if you're in with a shout, see what can be sorted.

I did look the company up thank you very much I knew where it was before I applied as I stated I made an error and misread the original advert and thought the buses ran earlier in that direction because I am human and I make mistakes.

Although it is rural the village has a number of businesses and schools so was a bit surprised the first bus is so late.
