We went Sark in the Channel islands for our honeymoon and it was stunning... so remote with no cars etc and just lots of time to explore the tiny islands together with few distractions (or expenses)! If you like simple pleasures (cycling, walking, birdwatching, deserted beaches and one pub) then you might consider this. However, the weather can be erractic, hence for our Silver wedding anniversary last year we decided to go to Sardinia instead and it was really beautiful and very romantic!

We booked the accomodation (a garden suite on Mandra Edera Farm) with a company called 'Just Sardinia' and then booked our own cheap flights and hire car. We found out when we were there that we could have booked the suite even cheaper by contacting the farm direct. Have a look at the 'Just Sardinia' website to give you an idea of what it is and if you think it might be the sort of thing you'd like then feel free to pm me any questions.

Hope this helps and that whatever you decide you have a wonderful time.

  • I married at the end of May and we went on a three week honeymoon to Italy.

Started at Lake Garda, got the train down to Rome then off to Sardinia for a beach holiday.

It is very easy to get a good bargain and still see everywhere you want.
  • I think I may have replied to the original post. I gave some costs of holidays i had found and the OP didnt respond, so someone else can do the research this time.

Huge apologies if i have got confused and you are a different person. ;)

Think you might be right Mizz Pink as none of us have had a repsonse or any thanks for the info we've given so far.... but maybe I'll be proved wrong.

I'm like you seem to be, I don't mind trying to help anyone on here (as so many people have been kind enough to help me) but a simple acknowledgement or thanks is much appreciated!

friends have suggested Croatia, have had a look and looks gorgeous! anyone been? We really like Greece (only been to Corfu and Kos but loved them!) do you go with what you know for a safe bet and pick another Greek island or bit different like Portugal (both went as kids, never as adults) or Croatia?

We understand people have busy lives but you also started pretty much the same topic in another post about 10 days before this one which you have had a fair few answers but didnt come back to acknowledge some replies at all, then started this one.

Thats what pees people off and stops them from giving you advice/help in further posts.
