M25 Anti-Clockwise average speed cameras

Hi guys, I was just wondering if anybody has any information regarding the average speed check cameras on the m25 and their accuracy. These cameras are situated between the roadwork sections and have a 50mph speed limit??

    No but considering they are for the safety of the workforce it shouldn't matter if they work or not. Mobile speed cameras are another thing though!

    The only ways an average speed camera system can be inaccurate is if it's measuring the time incorrectly or the distances between cameras have been set up wrongly. They aren't measuring your speed, that's done remotely based on the time it's taken you to get between cameras. So the only way to beat them is to not speed.

    What about when the workforce isn't there but the cameras are left on anyway?

    I can assure you that the majority of motorway roadworks with average speed are active 24/7 especially on the M25!

    The active ones tend to have large bright lights shining on the road.

    With the roads as congested as they are more and more works are now undertaken during the night than day.

    What information do you want?

    They measure your average speed. If it is over 50mph + 10% + 2mph = 57mph then you get a letter home.

    Some are 24/7

    Some are night time only

    Some are day time only.


    All of them, if they have SPECS cameras, have the cameras on, and a reduced speed limit, 24/7. Even the ones where they don't have narrow lanes or anything.
