ASDA Food Poisoning

If it had happened to me I'd want something, a £20 voucher would do it, I wouldn't want much, but I'd want something by way of apology... that is just basic customer service.0

i would kick up a fuss to. a few weeks ago i bought a pizza dough mix from tesco's to make with my little boy, we started making it and it smelled weird, good job i looked at the date on the box because it was 4months out of date, i rung the store and said i would have to come straight back because the rest of the week i was working and i was making a special journey because it wasnt my local store and it's about 20mins drive, i went in with the box and all they gave me was my £1 back, so i kicked up a fuss and the manager said that it was my choice to come back to the store ( oh yes i'm really going to not return, i'm pregnant and my son is only 4 it could of made us very ill if we had eaten it) i was fuming and said i wasnt happy and i got a £10 giftcard, i think it gives them more reason to check dates better as they have just lost the company £10. i no mistakes can be made but it sure would make me more vigilant if i worked in a food store.0

you drove 20 mins there and 20 mins back for the sake of £1 ??
I doubt it would have made you ill. Some flour, salt and dried yeast wont go "off" it just wont be at its best.0 -

I think I would have chucked it tbh and not bothered returning it. Maybe it's just me, but I just wouldn't see the point in wasting between 40-60 minutes of my time and petrol/wear & tear for the sake of a quid!0 -
well i was more annoyed than anything so of course i'm going to return it, wether it would of made us ill or not is not really the point, the fact is that it was 4months out of date and they needed to be made aware, i know it was only £1 but thats the reason i kicked up a fuss and got a £10 giftcard.0

You might want to read up on food poisoning before progressing, food poisoning cannot happen within 5 minutes, that would have been a gag reflex. Most food poisoning incubation period is 12-48 hrs after ingestion. And most food poisoning lasts in excess of several days, normally 1-2 weeks and sometimes 6-9 months in the event of Clostridium Botulinum (which you seriously do not want to get).
Some reading info : http://www.hart.gov.uk/index/environment-and-planning/environmental_health/food_safety/food_poisoning_information.htm
Sounds like you had a gag reflex (which can be psychological) and this caused more symptoms.0 -
If it made you sick that quickly, then it definitely wasn't food poisoning caused by the milkshake, as food poisoning would take hours rather than minutes.
More than likely you either have a stomach bug, or the vomiting as psychosomatic, and you're vomiting as you drank something your body is telling you you shouldn't have.
If milk was THAT off, it would have smelt terrible!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Sounds like its not food poisoning OP0

Definitely not food poisoning.
My hubby got food poisoning from some dodgy seafood, and he was ill for weeks. He felt fine after, had a bit of a smelly ar*e the next morning, and by the evening he had his bum on the loo and was doing a few technicolour yawns into a bucket. He couldn't eat for days and was living in diarolyte and cooled, boiled water.
Two nights is either a coincidental stomach bug (and even then, it's a bit of a quick one) or, and this is most likely, a gag reflex. As has been said above, it was probably psychological. The required amount of bacteria to induce the joys of food poisoning cannot multiply and take effect that quickly.0
