Thephonespot - fanastic contract deals but are they reliable?

Options
Just been browsing....

thephonespot. com

They appear to have some fantastic contract deals with up for half price off line rental on selected phones for THE LIFE OF THE CONTRACT!!!! Is it just me or does that sound too good to be true.

Do any of you have any experience with thephonespot?

Thanks,

Kat x

Had a phone from them a couple of months ago. They are part of the E2save and carphone warehouse group so should be reliable. all the documentation has E2save on it and the cashback info goes through their offices. I got £50 through quidco as well.. well its tracking anyway.

    Hi Kat,

    Firstly, welcome to MSE.

The Phone Spot are simply another online brand run by E2Save which, in turn, is owned by Carphone Warehouse. Although I've not personally purchased anything from them I have purchased from both E2Save and Carphone Warehouse and had no problems with either of them.

I looked at some of their deals, went for a free 12 month from OSPS instead but PS offer a huge cashback over £50 from memory.

Worth installing CCleaner and or deleting cookies BEFORE you attempt an on line purchase to order the phone.

    1) Clear your cookies
    2) Go to Quidco you need to register
    3) Find phontspot and click the link to earn cashback

I got >£200 in quidco cash back for contract phones I ordered last year. I tend to go for cheap / free deals, flog the new handsets, port number. This way with the cashbacks you get mobile phones and talk / text for free.

Been doing this with 4 phones: Me, Mrs, mum and dad for 4 years now well in credit!

If you like the lifetime offer fine, but prices go down each year and these deals are not as good as a new contract each year. But they are less work!

Reestit Mutton has recently updated the free*section of his site. Well worth a look!

    * Free means the deal on offer costs the same as the promised cash back from the retailer. Cashback is not without risk.

Anyone would think that there are some things that I actually charge for....I wish! <grin>

No...what Seth means is that the number of contract deals listed on my site that work out to be free of charge over the minimum term of the contract (after all the cashback is claimed for and received) has recently been on the increase.

The total now stands at 425 zero cost packages, involving 67 different handsets on 6 networks from 9 different retailers. In all, there are currently 110 unique combinations of handset and network in the "zero cost" list.

...and I should be adding another dozen or so tonight.

It should be pointed out that, until recently, the number of zero cost contract packages that were available on the market has resolutely hovered around the 300 mark for the past 6-9 months. There has definitely been a significant ratcheting up of the competition in this area lately.

    regards
