The instructions on my kit say to use bottled. I would say it depends on your water, ours is awful so I may well get cheap bottled water...

Ok thanks for your help. Does anyone use a brew belt or anything to keep the wone warm. Our house is a really cold house, and I mean really really cold and we dont have the heating on much (OH is very MSE when it comes to heating). So i was contemplating getting a brew belt to keep the wine warm. Either that or waiting till the peak of summer to make it lol.

This will probably sound like a daft question, but I have put the yeast and igredients into the bucket and half filled the air lock.....do I take the top off the airlock or not ?

Well, I put the lid loosely on the bucket and didnt put the airlock in the hole...seems to be bubbling away....

Anyone else made some of this? It was looking promising until the final step when the raspberry concentrate is added. Now it is sooooooooo sweet and not very wine like! And I have 30 bottles of it too! It was okay for a base for a sangria type party drink when my offspring were celebrating a birthday - but the next day my daughter said she doubted there was any alcohol in it as they all drank loads without effect. So overall I'd say - not very much like merlot but nice if you like fruity squash!

It's lovely with ice! My husband says it's not strong, but it does the job for me (I am a lightweight though!)
