  • TBH i'd be reporting it to trading standards, with crime ref number and saying the police have suspicion of inside job!.

billing them every end of the week with loss of earning and expenses as a result of being without your car.

also most if not all national chains have monitored car parking area's was the CCTV not working that night? for somereason. have the police requested footage from headoffice or garage. or was it placed just out of shot (moved during the day for no reason by someone)

hes locked up for repeated theft
  • Hello, sorry for the timely delay in my reply... i have moved house... anyway..

thanks for the replys. i have an update as of 04/04/12 today i actually got a reply on the phone from one of the directors aparrantly..

(after nearly 5 weeks its still ongoing)

Also to add.. they did get me a hire car which i still have as this is ongoing after i kicked off on the phone to there head office... i am disabled so i need my car to get out of the house..

conflicting reports.. first i was told by the monkeys at the said garage it was 3 or 4 cars that were robbed which i find hard to believe... this has now been changed to "just your car" ... i also mentioned this to the police as well on the phone when they rang me to tell me they had found no prints etc off the car and that was all the could do after giving me a crime reference number...

secondly i went to meet there area manager at the depot to "sort it out" now all of a sudden the MOT work comes to 700/800 pounds including some part that costs 500 pounds from vauxhall.. ( they want as a company fit anything less lol) .. they got a quote for new alloys/tyres/locknuts/cdplayer/amp/speakers/satnav which came to £1700 pounds.. not including the 70/90 CD's that was inside the glovebox in my CD case

the area guy was adamant i was paying for the MOT work... i said hold on this was priced at 200-300 the day it got done over now a month later its 600/700 quids worth of work.. i was not impressed and told him no way i would ever pay that for repair work...he then offered to pay half £350... he offered me £300 for the CD collection which i said no, not accepting anything less than £500.

i even said i was willing to take lesser priced wheels etc as i was not on the make... he still would not agree to anything at all no matter what i said he wouldnt give me an answer... after 1 hour of this i said im sorry you need to go away and think about this and come back when your talking sense...

i heard nothing back till today.... he rang me up and said he wanted to buy the car off me... he has offered me £2000 they get the car and i get the money cheque form and thats it...

Now as he said that is a decent offer... but i think its not good enough plus its his first offer... i still think its wierd all of a sudden they have come out of no-where and said this to me... i think i am going to ring him back tomorrow and ask for £2500 so i am not losing anything and can replace all my music...

what do you guys think ?

If they have provided a hire car for five weeks and are still pitching in daft offers, they seriously want their heads looking at. Bear in mind when you accept the offer, that hire car will be whipped off of you pronto. Can you do without transport while you are looking for a replacement?
Perhaps better to fix a comfortable amount that you will accept and if they come back to you short of that, it becomes an insurance job, plus local press and any other noise you can manage.
  • yeh today is the first offer that i have recieved or any genuine attempt at fixing the problem...

yes the hire car will go back asap as im well aware... i cant do wthout a car it just means i cant leave my house,,, so waiting for a cheque to clear and looking for a replacement car etc will be a major drain...

i my self think i would be silly to just accept his first offer after all this time anyway... there a big company they can take im sure...

plus they could just wiz my car through its mot and have the car on the front next week for 1500 quid....

if you sell wet fish for a living and a bloke in greasy overalls puts a pry bar under a bush and gets it to move as proof its a fail how would a person not knowledgeable know any different?
    clue
    he wouldn't
its called trust which is why as i keep saying vosa removed reason for failure of discs corrosion as a cash cow for them so now they are going to have to find new ways of robbing the unsuspecting
my point was not all tasting station that do cheap mots rip you off. And anyway you shouldn't be taking your car to a testing station were the tester is wearing greasy overalls regardless of seat covers, floormats and cling film.
