Gif Gaf - few questions

Looked on their forum but can not see any "search" options so thought I ask on here and perhaps someone knows?

I am currently on T-Mobile contract, due to end in April or May.

I am looking at Gif Gaf now as do not want to be tied up to another contract.

At the moment I am using Blackberry 8900 - want to keep this phonoe and use it with Gif Gaf sim.

I understand I will need to get the phone unlocked of course.

What I wouldlike to know:

1) Will I get a new number with Gif Gaf sim card? I do NOT want to keep my T-mobile number, want a new number (long story)

2) Will I be able to set my Blackberry while on Gif Gaf so my emails come same way as my SMS do and "bleep" when they arrive?

I do not want to have to get on the internet to check my emails, I want them to arrive the same way as I have them now - similar to sms. I got few gmail accounts to work like that on my Blackberry on T-Mobile now.

I am not really bothered about the internet and BB messaging or anything else but it is important for me to be able to set up my email as described above and to have a new phone number.

Anyone knows it this can be done (easily) on Gif Gaf?

Thanks a lot.

    Hi.
1/ yes,you will get a new number when you activate your sim for the fist time with a £10 top up or goodybag purchase.
2/you will have to get the blackberry add on each month for £3 to get blackberry push e-mail & messenger.

3/remember to get a sim from a community member for a free £5 credit when you activate.

Do you mean you are not really interested in minutes, texts, internet or anything else other than getting email? In which case, are you sure about giffgaff being the best way forward. The cheapest blackberry compatible option is going to be £8/month (the smallest £5 goodybag and £3 blackberry add-on each month).

There are cheaper ways to get just email on a blackberry. One, very easy one, once your contract expires, is just get T-mobile Blackberry PAYG SIM (it will have a new number). Same network as now so no unlocking issues. You may be able to get the first 6 months blackberry email access for free, usual cost is £20 for 6 months. (A Six-Month Blackberry Booster)

No - I did not say I am not interested in minutes/sms, just not interested in internet/BB messenger (as stated in my message).

LOts of minurtes and sms is a must of course, plus the instant email without having to log on via internet...

    Thanks

Sorry, I misunderstood what you meant by "anything else".
