    where?
Had lunch at my local La Tasca today and whilst sitting having a drink afterwards, we were approached by a mysterious gentleman.

He placed what initially looked like coasters/beer mats on the table in front of my partner and I and he was urging us to read them. On closer inspection, they were in fact laminated cards and although I can't remember the exact wording, it went something like this:

one of us is assuming the poster lives in the uk yes?

    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)

First time i experienced this was in New York a few years ago, only this wasn't in some fancy place, it was in a McDonalds - happened in almost every place i went into that was "fast food" i learned that it's pretty common and the reason they hit places like that is cos there's no waiters to toss them out on their backside! Only seen it very recently over here though, since it's a common scam i started talking about the person involved and waved over the security to deal with!
Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.

Sorry, but by giving them something you are perpetuating the situation.

Much better to just politely say no thanks and continue your meal and conversation, and then complain to the manager about being disturbed by this and it spoiling the enjoyment of your meal.

How can you google with something that's not a Hoover? ;)
In the same way as you can hoover with a vacuum cleaner not made by Google.

No, I always use Google Adwords for my vacuuming needs.
There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.

Me too. Ordinary vacuum cleaners suck.

It only takes one counter example to blow that idea out of the water. Not everyone hoovers, although Hoover is your friend.
