A reminder - how to get double clubcard points in store

As mentioned in Martins article on how to maximise the loyalty points etc then I just thought I'd remind you all on how to get double points every time you go to Tesco
I have applied for one today on the FreePhone number and they asked where I heard of it and I simply said "friend". They didn't ask for further details
As always then it's probably best to only add what cash you need that day for your shopping (will also help you stick to a budget if you have one!!!) And as Martin says DON'T go overdrawn on it! The rates are not nice - so use this if you are organised!
Martins article can be found HERE - please make sure you read it - I often find I have forgotten something he's highlighted

Clubcard Plus account. It requires a standing order, but just do this for £1/month then top it up at customer services before each shop, as cash is immediately credited. Avoid going overdrawn though as the rate’s not good! Applications are phone only, the official number is 08457 104010, but you should be able to get through via freephone 0800 406050 too

When you ring up what questions do they ask or do they send you an application form in the post.
I would really like one of these cards but what puts me off is that adding money to your card. Do you have to add it at the customer service desk with the scary CS lady who hates me or can you do it via the cash machine outside?
Will the money be available straight away to use and can you check your balance either way?
When you go through the till do you show your clubcard as usual and then your clubcard plus?

name address where you heard of the schememhoc wrote:I would really like one of these cards but what puts me off is that adding money to your card. Do you have to add it at the customer service desk with the scary CS lady who hates me or can you do it via the cash machine outside?
You have to see the lady that hates you to add extra money on. I have a DD that sends some money to the account each month so i only top up at CSD. You can't do this at a cash machinemhoc wrote:Will the money be available straight away to use and can you check your balance either way?
Yes and yes...in the cash machine outside.mhoc wrote:When you go through the till do you show your clubcard as usual and then your clubcard plus?
No, just your clubcard plus as it comes with a clubcard account. So we now have 3 clubcard accounts registered to our address. My credit card, OH's credit card and my clubcard plus.
Will try to answer anymore q's you may have, though intrigued to know why CSD is so scary!:DWho made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Thanks for answering those bylromarha!
I quite like the idea of a monthly standing order going to the account - would have been better if I could easily withdraw the money again from the accuontespecially as I shop less and less at Mr T

No...can't remember what it is, but know it isn't double points. Something like 2 points for every £3 spend in Tesco...close to double, but not quite.
Too late for my brain to function:rotfl:Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

I've got a clubcard plus but have to admit I've never topped it up instore yet cos I'm scared of the customer services ladies too!!
how do you go about doing it? just hand over the cash or do you need to fill out a paying in slip? I've never seen anyone else with a green clubcard plus card so I'm not sure if they will know how to top it up either!
I've topped it up by sending off a cheque but it takes quite a while to be credited. Haven't really been using the card much but now my stoozing credit card is nearly at it's limit I think I'll be using my plus card more!weaving through the chaos...0 -
I never knew about this! Thanks for the reminder0
