And if anything is wrong they'll fix it.

THAT is the worrying bit!

I don't post here very often so am not an expert on how the board rules are interpretted, but the issue is one of not providing free advertising rather than being concerned about innacurate info. being given (although that could be a concern as well I guess). Post #23 of this thread did actually move the thread on by giving some figures but was also very much promoting the account (advertising). That is why I politely referred San Insider to the board rules (which he/she may not have been aware of) but chose not to report the post to the mods.

Thanks for letting me know, I never took anything that any one as saying as advertising as the article this thread refers to gives the rates and mostly everything else to do with the account.
    Thanks again

As Santa's Preferred Current Acct is supposedly being withdrawn for new customers after today, I opened one on-line just after midday - and it's already showing there when I log on... blimey!

I've also just applied for a Preferred Current Account as I would prefer receiving 5% for a year

However, if anyone wants details of the new 123 Current Account, they are now available here

EDIT: though it looks like some of the rumours were untrue and the 'old' current account range is also still available..

    Regards
    Sunil

The 'cashback calculator' they provide is actually pretty handy for quickly estimating what you'd earn, although the calculator page makes no mention of the £24 annual fee so remember to take that off!
  • Generally agree - account looks like great value. Not a massive fan of the £1 per day for going into your overdraft. Will they send you texts if you go overdrawn?

    Am definitely tempted...

Same here. As my existing Preferred account will be 12 months old in a couple of weeks time, I opened a second one online on Saturday. It was visible through online banking within minutes!

Believe it or not, I have actually convinced myself now that I quite like the 123 account since I don't go overdrawn, the cashback easily covers the £24 fee, and the interest looks good too.

I might even apply for the 123 credit card now since it seems better value than my AMEX and my Barclaycard. And ISA-wise, I might well pluck for Santander, too --- never thought I'd dare Santander but here I come! Just hope I won't regret it.

So, for example Santander think you can correctly identify every single broadband ISP and every home phone provider in the UK?

What about override provides like 18185?

Every single energy and water supplier in the UK?

Im not saying its impossible, just seems .... a bit of a challenge for your systems!

There's a handy little supplier checker on the site now - all my suppliers are listed, so should all be running smoothly!

What are the faster payment limits on Santander these days? Is it still £300 or have they increased it something useful yet?
