The ex got some stupid wireless thermostat in instead of a normal controller. Back in the days of oil, you set a simple program of "turn on at 7am for an hour" then during the cold months "turn on at 4:30pm for 2 hours" then it could be boosted during the day as required. At the minute it seems to be trickle heating all day whereas I'd prefer it to just boost when I need it.

As it is, I have it set below 20C all day but even when the program says it should be 19C the temp sometimes shows higher and the flame icon is lit which means the heating is on. Have turned the temps down yet again. Dunno if it makes a big difference but the old washing machine had a hot feed whereas the new one only has a cold feed so maybe that was bumping up the usage. Shower is electric. No fireplace.

I have a wireless thermostat and they're pretty good but you have to have them away from windows, draughts etc or they will give an incorrect reading and the boiler will continually kick in.

Cold feed washing machines are suppose to be more effiecient, I believe:)

    Thanks celebrate. x

Got pathetic marital issues too. stbx is being a total idiot. Don't know whether my children and myself will be able to stay in our home. Want divorce through asap!
DS didn't get the secondary school place he had his heart set on as all of his friends are going to that particular school. Trying to sort out an appeal based on everything my poor boy has been through concerning domestic abuse against me and him by stbx.
And now this with my mum.

    Can't cope with much more. I really can't. :(

Really sorry to hear this ChelseaGirl, you are really having a tough time at the moment. I have been through a school appeal and also helped a couple of people in the past. I have some great info I found at the time that may help put your case together, If I can be of any help with this please PM me. Keep strong you are doing a great job xx

Been meaning to share my adventures from my shop on Friday.
I got followed to my car by the security guard :eek:
    After buying a 1p item :eek::eek:

Story goes like this...Went in, quickly whizzed round to grab a few things that I thought might have been cheap as scanner is upstairs. Went upstairs to collect from direct desk first, as I shop quite late and remember once leaving it til last for them to be shut!! So I have my new 50% off shelving (thank you OP). Not as cheap as £6 but the £10 kingsize duvet (thanks again) and a little patio peppa pig chair for my LO. I then scanned the few finds all no good apart from a tin of swizzel sweets at 1p!! (found in seasonal isle) I then go to find OH and DD in the cafe, as my DD loves using SS and I thought she could go pay for the sweets. So off we go to SS. I walk through and wait for her to pay, then we head off to car.
I have just put stuff in the boot, turn around and security man is there and asks for my receipt :eek: lol. I show him my direct order numbers and I could understand why it looked a bit dodgy. Only thing was I had only printed first page, so didn't have on it what I had ordered, but he didn't really take much notice...think he may have recognized me anyway and that was that phew...we got away with our 1 penny item :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I then had to go back in and buy some actual food.

I've no idea how but my gas is £150/month
Caz, that looks way too high, even for a large house. Give them a call and ask them to come and check your meter.

That was it, bye all. :D

    OB

Edit: I was going to mention thermostats but I see others beat me to it. (Clever lot!) That's what happens when you post as you go. :)

As for the cold fill washing machine; electricity heating up the water there, so not affecting gas bill.

If you are not paying for it, you're not the customer; you're the product being sold.
