Maybe someone can help me, my Dad got x-rays done a month ago because of a stupid fall. When they checked them they found a shadow just below one of his shoulders and sent him out a letter to make an appointment with the thoracic medicine team in our local hospital. His appointment is at the end of next month.
My question is - if it was serious would they not want to see him right away?
He's panicing about it and both of us automatically thought cancer, my mum doesn't seem to realise how scared he is and won't take the day off work to go with him so it'll be up to me to take him but I'm worried too but also don't want him to go alone so offered to take him even before we found out that mum wasn't willing to. I know my mum must be scared too but he needs support and someone with him and thinks my mum doesn't love him anymore :(

Sorry for going into so much detail but I'm worried about my dad's mental heath as well as his physical state so want to try to put his mind at rest (he's 65 BTW)

If they were worried they would have got him in a lot sooner, but don't immediately worry if they do bring the appt forward, hospital appts being brought forward are normally due to cancellations rather than anything else.

Always keep in mind that it's always more likely to be nothing rather than something, cysts can appear all over the place, which is probably the shadow they're seeing or possibly an anomalie (sp?) on the x-ray xxx

A 14 mile round trip looking for CHEESE, and that dammed RAT must have got there before DD and I.
Loads of the stuff there was, but none of the Extra mature.
Well done those that got it though, get your food processor out of the back of the cupboard, dust it off and get grating, cheese freezes really well and its so hand ready grated.
Oops, thought I was on another site giving tips : )
Love your Mum, you'll never get another one when she's gone.
  • I don't suppose anyone can tell me why I have to log back on here almost everytime I refresh?

It took an age to edit a post earlier because I had to refresh and then log on again, only to find it was 2 pages behind!

Internet here is slow at the best of times, this time of night reminds me of dial up!!

Those young lads are the best aren't they!:T

Although I have to say, the really geeky ones can sometimes be a bit "jobsworth" if it's the only chance they ever get to be in charge of anything! I find the best ones are usually the "lad" type ones who will chat and have a laugh and are less concerned about T's profits and more concerned about their hangovers lol!

Especially if you go on a Sunday morning when they are still hammered from the night before, the best time to wheel your huge trolley of 1p items through without incident!

    :D

Oh, you look for those guys too do you? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
