Roadside Recovery: AutoAid Feedback

Just found this thread. Swapped from the AA just over 2 years ago after (the last in a series of) appalling callouts with them (5 hours, didn't know what their vehicles were equipped with, 6 broken arrival deadlines, didn't call back when they said they would....).
Last June with Auto-Aid I had a serious electrical problem which stranded my motorcycle at services on the M1 on a long trip. Took the contractor about 60 minutes to turn up as he'd been sent to the services on the wrong side, and I had to chase the contractor to send me an invoice, but sorted me promptly when they got there, and relayed the bike to designated destination. Bill was over £400 (on credit card), and I got cheque back in the post within a week of posting my claim to Auto-Aid.
Service beats my experience of both AA and RAC hands-down, and when you factor the cost in as well its unbeatable. just wish they did a European extension - but they DO cover the Isle of Man (unlike the AA).0 -
Does Autoaid provide cover for a flat tyre, getting locked out of the car or running out of petrol?0
-
AutoAid are second to none IMO, i was with RAC for years, once they left on the roadside in the snow for 3+ hours........ Nationwide tried to take me 1 hour out of the way home to avoid a £1 toll ....... then got lost........ and also put my health in danger.
Once my missus broke down i couldnt find the AutoAid stuff anywhere so i phone a few contractors and asked if they delt with autoaid one of them said yes i called them out ....... got the invoice and posted it off to autoaid.... got the cheque within 14 days .......... TOP RATE SERVICE.0 -
IMPORTANT NOTE: Vehicles covered are any saloon car, hatchback, estate car, car derived van, motorcycle or motorised caravan under 2.5 tons gross vehicle weight and with an engine capacity of no more than 2500cc
So my 2.6 Omega isnt covered, am i right? or is it just motor caravans,
sorry posted this under recovery before i saw this thread0 -
Just called them, its only motor caravans over 2500cc that are not covered.
They also charged me £32 when the website states £34
Another thing they mentioned which i didnt see on the site, they only cover motorcycles upto 100cc
Women i spoke to was very nice, clear, polite and knowledgeable.
So far so good.0 -

I'm thinking of switching to Autoaid from the AA but I've got a 500cc motorbike as well as sharing the use of a car with my wife. It sounds a bit strange to cover everything else they do but only cover upto 100cc for motorcycles.something missing0 -
