  • Oh Judi - you are not alone:p I left my little baby outside the village post office in his pram (shop too small to get it inside). Posted my parcel, bought a newspaper then walked home. Made a cup of tea and started reading the paper when I suddenly realised the pram wasn't in the house. I did a fairly good impression of Linford Christie (minus the tight shorts ) as I sprinted back up to the post office - the stupidest thing was that I'd had to walk right past the pram to go home :rotfl:

It's so refreshing to know that I'm not the only scatty-!!!!! :o

LOL Im glad to know Im not the only scatty one! Vatos, ringing my OH on his phone to tell him he'd left it is something Ive done before too.. :S

I am forever doing daft things, I think its cos Im generally very absent minded, always have my head in the clouds.

I have a habit of always walking in the wrong direction when I come out of shops, ie back the way I came instead of onwards, to the point that I now make sure I walk in the opposite direction to what my instinct is telling me!

I have often got on the tube going in the opposite direction, confusing north/south, east/west..
If I have to nip down to the shops, Ill often walk out in my flip flops, or pyjamas! Reeeally embarassing!

The list goes on...Im hoping one day they'll really produce a pill (like the one in limitless) that will just clear the fog from my brain!
We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic. ;)

In a shopping centre car park I opened the door of a car thinking it was my Nans car. The alarm started going off and I ran off in shock leaving my nan to close the car door :o

My other half would be helpfully cracking himself up watching me make a total and utter idiot of myself from the safety of our car. So I may well catch up with one or all of you at some point. My advice, while parked up waiting for someone keep the doors locked and only let the person you are expecting in. Do something positive drivers to stop a fool like me making a twit of myself again. Pleeeeeeaaaaase :o

Some lady got in to my mum's car a few years ago when she was picking me up, maybe it was you! ;)

This thread has given me a right giggle this morning! Thanks everyone and keep posting :D

Years ago I worked in a naughty shop & I used to deal with the mail, packing, & listen to the messages on the answering machine for new orders. Due to many different accents the message would often begin ''My name is Mary Smith, M-A-R-Y .....''. they would spell their names & adresses out. I had to stop doing that part of the job though as after a few weeks if someone said hello to me I'd say ''Hello, then spell out H-E-L-LO''.

In our family its my mum who's the 'scatty' one, I dont know how many times she's tried to answer the tv remote instead of her mobile,

My dd has eczema when her skin is really quite dry she goes to my mums for a bath (we renting and only have a shower :() so I had given my mum dd's cream for after her bath but instead my mum put it in the bath?!

I think the most embarressing thing she has done though was when my mum, my sister and I where in the shop and she asked my sister if we needed anything else so my sister asked if my mum could get her 2 blue wkd's and she would give her the money when we got home....My mum went to the counter and asked for 2 blue Ky jellys

I tend to say silly things which makes the hubby laugh :o

We took the kids to the Moscow state circus when it was in town and at the interval we took them to get juice etc and i asked my hubby if he was having trouble understanding what the ringleader was saying as I was and did he think he was speaking Moscowian :o in stead of Russian!!

I have said loads of daft things but thankfully I have forgotten most of them, Dh hasnt and loves to bring them all up in company

I'm forever doing silly things, but the most recent award has to go to my father, who managed to leave the car winndow *wide* open while he left it (locked it. lol) and went shopping for a few hours...miracle the car was still there when he got back. lol.

Haha that reminds when of when I was younger I used to work in a takeaway shop answering the phone and I would always have to say

"Hello Y***** K******" and if it was busy I would be doing this about 100 times a day!! so its no wonder that whenever I heard a phone ring (even my own house phone or mobile) I would answer with "Hello Y***** K******"!!

Oh done that many times! It would really confuse people ringing the house phone when I answered 'Hello, X Helpdesk' :o And after a while I took to answering the work phone 'Catalogue number?' instead of the welcome spiel because I was jumping forwards to what I knew the next qestion would be! :p

My OH is terrible for holding hands with/hugging/groping strange women because he assumes it's me! When we were on holiday last year we swam with dolphins in a group of about 8, I was on OH's right side, he stood and held hands with the woman on his left for about 5 minutes before noticing that it wasn't me! Weird thing is that she didn't even question it! :rotfl:

Oh and I hope none of you crazy people jump in my car and tell me to hurry the f*** up, I'll be terrified! :rotfl: I've never got into the wrong car as a passenger, but always try to open any blue Punto I see parked up thinking it's mine! I've even got an aerial topper on my car to help me find it... but I just grumble when I see that it's missing (i.e. I'm looking at the wrong bloody car!) because I think someone's nicked it! :o
