BT internet gone horribly slow

Hey guys,

Just got home from a meeting to find disastrously slow internet. Any tips?

Cleared cache, renewed DHCP lease (I’m on an iMac), but still nothing.

I will try my best to answer questions, but please be aware that my training is in PR, not internet stuff :)

    How are you connecting-wireless or ethernet? If the former, try changing the wireless channel via the router's web interface.
    Have you tried simply rebooting the router?
    ADSL filters all in place and OK?
    Noise/crackles on the line?
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    Isn't this just normal service for BT (everyone I know who has ever used BT internet services has had problems like this from time to time)?

    Anyway, check there is no rogue applications running on your Mac or any other computers on the network (BitTorrent, iPlayer etc...).

    Phone them and get them to reset the line connection.
