I've sold an item to a buyer with a zero feedback who has been registered with ebay UK. I ship to UK only but he paid by PayPal and provided an unconfirmed address in France
. And what is more the address is of some hotel somewhere in Alps:mad: I found here several threads about overseas buyers and refunded him at once the full amount. But what should I do know? Should I open NPB strike? If yes can he neg me for this? Please, help!!! I've just started to sell (but with my buyer's account, so I have 50+ feedback) and now this...

I wouldnt have though that you could open a npb, as he did pay.
Did you not block buyers from countries to which you don't ship?
how expensive is the item and have you e-mailed buyer to see what is going on ?
I once sent an item to france to a buyer with f/b under 5, as it was only for £5, it was also to an unconfirmed address but I did some digging on the net as his addy was most unusual, to find out he was some world renowned physicist in some science institute. you never know who your buyer may be!"There is a light that never goes out"0 -
I did block non-UK buyers but he was registered in 2003 in UK! Its inexpensive item, but very havy. The postage to France, I suppose, would be very high!0

Like windswept says you should not open an NPB dispute as it would be completely unfair to put a strike on the buyers account after all he did pay. Obviously stay in good communicatio with your buyer, be apologetic and explain that you prefer not to ship overseas, and maybe if you keep him sweet he will agree to a mutual NPB which willr eclaim your FVFs but not put a strike on his account.
To avoid this happening again ensure your sellers preferences are set to exclude bidders from countries to which you do not ship.
Whatever happens the buyer remains able to leave feedback, but if you are polite and explain the problem you are very unlikely to get a neg.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I think what the OP is saying is that the buyer is registered on the Ebay UK site, but his paypal address is in France.
Would it not be that if the buyer is registered on the UK site then Ebay wouldn't recognise it as a foreign buyer and therefore not block him?
Maybe the buyer used to live in UK but has moved to France.
OP I would email the buyer and point out that you only ship to Uk addresses and see what happens.0 -
On balance I think you're right aeuerby and I agree that the OP needs to contact the buyer and ask him for his confirmed UK address.

Yes, he cannot be blocked as he was registered on the UK site. I contacted him yesterday but still no response.0

I have found even when blocking international bidders, they have still managed to bid on my auctions! And some have even ended up winning!0

If you are still unsatisifed you can always report the buyer for incorrect contact details - ie not a UK address anymore. It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.
Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.0 -
Just send an email explaining you intended only to send within the UK and that postage to France would be £xxx.
Once he pays, you might as well send it off. I'm always sending around Europe with no problems.0 -
But do you guys think that I will be on the safe side to send the item to an unconfirmed address of some hotel in mountains? There is no even any town nearby on the map
