Broadband - no 12 month contract???

Hi all,
Just really after some advice please (new to this so sorry if wrong thread). I have just got my first laptop and want to hook up the net at my flat. There has been a phone line connected here before so I have called BT to have it connected, no problem.
However, I want to set up broadband but only for a period of 3 months. I simply don’t need (can’t use) the 12 months minimum that is all I can see. Is it possible without having to pay out the term of the contract or £50 penalty charges?
Thanks a lot
Mark

The issue you may have is that BT charge your chosen ISP to activate the ADSL. For those signing up for a year, the ISP usually swallows this cost.
I'm not sure you'll get away with free set-up and a monthly contract. I think you'll probably have to pay for the activation at least.Dave. :wave:0 -
Fast.co.uk offer a 3 month contract.
Zen internet offer a 1 monthly contract.
Both are highly rated on ISP reviews. As already stated it's not easy to find such a short term contract with no activation fee.Blessed are the geeks, for they shall inherit the Internet.0 -

Most ISP's do nowadays.
Eclipse won't allow you free set-up on a monthly contract though, as stated in their T&C.Is there a contract?
Our standard contract length is 1 month. However, if you want to take advantage of our free set-up and free hardware offer, a 12-month contract applies.Dave. :wave:0
