Hi,
On checking my online bank on Sunday I noticed a direct debit charge of £519.72. This should only be £16.50. On speaking to Orange immediately they said an error occurred when my contract was due to renew, there retention team called and offered me a new deal and I signed got my upgrade all hunky dorey.... Anyway on the day of new contract my phone was cut off and I called Orange who put me back anyways it seems someone has charged me for it.
Orange have agreed to refund me however after must discussion with them they have told me that they can only offer me a credit to my Orange account first when the new bill is due 8th March then issue a refund to my Bank Account 3 - 6 workings days after! I need some advice, I need to get this money sooner as I have bills and I need to live as I currently have no funds accept Barclaycard etc.
Can I do something to push them along or say something to put pressure on!

go to the bank and use the DD guaranteeIf an error is made in the payment of your Direct Debit, by the organisation or your bank or building society, you are entitled to a full and immediate refund of the amount paid from your bank or building society.0

thats not your problem
your problem is money now
if Orange refund later than pay it back to themIf you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when the organisation asks you to

This may cause an issue on your credit file as a reversed/rejected payment. It will sort itself out, but if they took it you need to let them put it back. You either trust the4 DD system, or you don't. (I won't touch it), but that's the joy of letting them do what they want, as to force a reversal may cause other issues and increase the workload.0
