upgraded contract...help!

My dad got a upgrade on his contract yesterday, and he got a new phone, but he is happy to keep his old phone and put the new sim in his old one..but the sim will only work in the new phone , is there any possible way i could get the sim working in the old phone?:S helpp! please!

I cannot imagine any reasons for the new sim not to work in the old phone.
Also, I don't understand why upgrading on the same account required a new sim card.

Orange normally do this. Not sure why but they do.

And to the OP the sim card will work in any phone (Unless its a Micro sim)

hes on orange..and the new sim is orange also, hes upgraded his phone to a blackberry, but hes given me his contract phone but his new sim wont work in his old phone but does in the new one! anyone know wat to do? thanks x

Try some other phone (unlocked or locked to Orange)?
Go to Orange shop with the new sim and the old phone?

Do you not understand that the information you posted is insufficient even for guessing?
I can be wrong, but I think the fact the the new phone is BB doesn't make any difference for the old phone.
However, you may need a special tariff to get the full functionality from BB.

If he got an upgrade the network provider should give you the codes to unlock the old handset if you ask them. o2 have unlocked my old handset everytime for me over the phone when i have asked
