Hello I am new

I would like some advice please , I am new to this and have got myself into a mess , my repayments on my next account , another homeshopping catalogue , an argos storecard and a credit card have spiralled out of control and are crippling us every month , that is without our normal outgoings of mortgage car repayment loan etc ....... i would appreciate some practical advice on how I can deal with this ...is it possible to phone them up and ask them to reduce the monthly repayments ? will this make me a bad credit rating if I do this .... this has only happened due to my hours of work being slashed , any advice appreciated please as am getting more and more worried and don't want to just bury my head in the sand.

Better to post on the Debt-Free Wannabe board (although they may well say the same as xylophone has already).

Can I suggest that you use a meaningful title, as people are more likely to look at your post, and if you want to add details use the Edit button rather than creating a new thread.

The DFW board will expect you to prepare an soa (statement of account.) which will make difficult reading. But it really is the first step to sort things out. Whilst preparing it ask yourself whether each item of expenditure is really necessary.

Just remember there is a difference between what you want and what you need.

    Best of luck!
