Need to replace a lost car key!

Yep I walked the whole route again with a friend to find them but they were no where to be seen.
You might want to walk the route again with one of you clapping your hands and the other whistling.
Many keyrings respond to the noise of clapping/whistling and emit a beep to identify where they are.
Wouldn't do any harm to try.0 -
I would try the local VW dealership. It may have been handed in there.
My dad found a Mercedes car key a few weeks back, phoned the local Merc dealership (helpful there was a dealership key ring on it but he said he would have called them nonetheless). They told him to post it to them and they would be able to match the chip in it to the car and from there identify the owners. He did this, and last week got a very nice thank you card from the owners of the car, who'd been reunited with their lost key.0 -
Fortunately I do have a VW dealership key ring on it. I have rung them a couple times to see if they have had anything handed it, but no luck as of yet. I still have my fingers crossed!0

We needed a key for a Seat last year, and I gritted my teeth and paid the main dealer. Timpsons were almost the same price.0

Getting a new key or having your spare cloned which is what a lot of the locksmiths will do instead of creating a proper new key.
But that wont erase the old key.
