Easyjet boarding policy?

Flew Easyjet and returned last week with my kids.
If you have children you get priority boarding. If you aren't there early they reserve seats for families with kids near the back. We were a bit late on our outwards flight and even though the flight was full they directed us to our reserved seat on the back. I could see a few annoyed faces when we got this treatment.
On our flight coming back, the assistant was asking people not to sit on the last 3 rows as these are reserved for families with kids who don't check in early as it is a legal requirement in the UK that they have to abide by. Legally they can't let children sit separately from their parents and Easyjet were excellent on both our journeys.
Edited to say - I have a 3 and 12 year old, how old is your youngest?0 -
The recommendation is either next to or one seat behind or in front of a young child. Depending on the ages of your kids OP this might help you. Although I don't believe the regulations specify an age cut off - you would struggle with teenagers.
Whilst some airlines reserve a section for families this is rare (especially on easyjet - sherry were you traveling during school hols?)
Why not save money on priority boarding and just turn up early.Save £200 a month : [STRIKE]Oct[/STRIKE] Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr0 -
Last time i paid for priority boarding it ended up as a free for all, us at the front and everyone else behind and then the doors open and its a race to the plane, save your cash.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

you got priority boarding because you have an under-5 in your party. unless things have changed a lot in the last 4 months, you're not guaranteed to have any rows reserved on the plane for families travelling together - I think you just got lucky

I love SB but its quite expensive...£15 each. I got it in December for a trip to Malaga and it was worth every penny. Check in was very quick, boarding was quick and our luggage was above our heads. Same on the return - the queue for check in was a nightmare so SB was most welcome.
Me and OH both agreed that we would buy it in future if we are flying from the bigger airports - gatwick or heathrow - but not if we are using City airport or Southend.
I think its a good point though that its a waste of money if they bus you to the plane!!0 -
Decide before you board who is sitting with who rather than trying to sort it out on the aircraft, the Easy aircraft have seating in rows of 3 either side0

You won't be buying Speedy Boarding at Heathrow or London City as easyJet do not use these airports.
It is not necessarily a waste of money if they bus you to the plane. Often Speedy Boarders are loaded on to the front of the bus and when it reaches the aircraft the front door is opened to enable them to board first. The other doors are opened once Speedy Boarders have left the bus.0 -

Doesn't usually work this way in practice. Either you get jumbled on the bus (the driver doesn't know and can't prevent non-sb leaving at the same time as sb) or all the doors are opened at once to save time.
I don't think I've ever been on a easy jet bus that only opened one set of doors for more than a few seconds.
OP this site is good for reviews of optional extras like SB http://www.airlinequality.com/Forum/speedy_board_easyjet.htm.Save £200 a month : [STRIKE]Oct[/STRIKE] Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr0 -
