Easyjet boarding policy?

Hi all.

I have booked a holiday to Sharm and the outbound journey is with easyjet ( return with monarch.)

I've never flown with EJ before and have now heard some horror stories.

There are 4 of us, 2 adults 2 children. Ideally I'd like to sit with all the family but definitely with my youngest.

I understand you can pay extra for speedyboarding but opinion seems mixed as to whether it's worth it.

Please does anyone know how easyjet board flights - is it SB, then assisted travellers and finally every man for himself?!

Or do they board passengers with children after the preferential passengers.

Thanks

Just found the answer - under 5's only, so mine are a cople of years too old.

Hi, 2 weeks ago flew with EJ, there are no problems just have to know their rules. Luggage weight and size etc.

As for boarding, we always make sure we are close to the front of the queue when waiting to board just don't hang about. Usually most people get to sit together, it really isn't a problem. :)

Id second davidboys comment we fkew to sharm with easyjet a few yrs ago and using them again to sharm this yr. Also used them many a time to spain. we have 3 children and never not sat together. If youve got children u get to board after the priority boarders so never had an issue.

I think it depends how old your children are, as to if you get to board after priority. Young children definately get earlier boarding, but you would have to check the website for the exact age (mine are teens so I dont know sorry).
I always pay for Priority boarding, mainly as I travel with hand luggage only, and want my stuff in a locker near me.

When we flew back from Sharm it was when lots of flights had been cancelled due to bad snow, and lots of passengers had been transfered onto our flight, as they had been there waiting for 2 days in some cases, to get home.
The ones with kids automatically jumped the queue on our plane, and we were told that some of us may not get on the flight. (there was lots of pushing and shoving) We were lucky as we had priority boarding so were guaranteed our seat. This was a very unusual case though.

I have never paid for speedy boarding, but I think it would be worth it if you have children and would like to sit together.

Apart from a few stubborn souls I find most people will assist on moving about to help a young family sit together.

Would you pay to sit together if you wanted to go to the cinema with children?

Would you expect people in a Cinema to move, so you can sit next to your kids if you were last in and the only seats were apart?

beware though, if you pay for speedy boarding you may find yourself bussed from the departure gate to your plane, in which case you have no advantage at all with speedy boarding, as you all get on the one bus and all get off in no particular order and onto the plane.

I don't pay for speedy boarding with EJ, fly with one or 2 children (they are too old to get priority boarding) and we've always managed to sit together on the plane.

Last time I used them it was a return from Athens
Turned up to find a very long queue for the check ins, the EJ speedy check in was empty

So I ask the EJ desk how much Speedy Boarding was - €6 - bargain :)
