Would like to read a book but not to buy

After watching a Reality tv programme, the people who the programme is based on have released several books that I would like to read. However, I don't want to buy them and my local library do not stock them.
Can anyone suggest any websites that I can try to get these books for free or a lot cheaper than amazon are selling them for.
Apologies if I have posted this on the wrong forum.

My Sister's library does this for her so I imagine yours will. (I don't use the library, so have never tried.)0 -
Will your library not order them for you?Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0

Have checked the library website where I normally order my books and they don't have a record of the books in their systems.MFW - currently at £23,610 (Aug 2014) MFD 20200

If your library can't order them you can get some of the books cheaper second hand on Amazon, for example "Beyond The Lemonade Stand" is selling for 1p plus postage.Dum Spiro Spero0

Morning all
We'll try this one on our I Wanna (buy it or do it) board, to see if there more options. Good luckForum_Team wrote:

if the county/city library don't have a title in stock, they may 'consider' buying it in for you if they think it will be popular/beneficial enough to the local public, if not, they may advise you that you can pay a flat fee of a fiver or something to that region and have it requested from The British Library, and that normally takes a couple of weeks to come through (by then, you'll realise it's cheaper buying 2nd hand).
Normally, if the book is fairly newly published you'll notice that it isn't that much cheaper buying it on Marketplace/2nd hand from Amazon as you need to pay postage on top (some more expensive books come free postage). Wait a good 6mths, and it'll be miles cheaper. Depending on the type of book you're after, some books don't go down that much. Btw, I buy mine all of Marketplace, and my Wish List is forever being added to regularly.. I resort to Marketplace if the library doesn't have a new title in even after 6mths of it being published..0
