Would like to read a book but not to buy

  • I'm a big library fan, but you've had lots of suggestions in that direction already. As an alternative - if you don't mind waiting a bit - I'd suggest checking the charity shops regularly, especially if there is an Oxfam bookshop within reach, as they are generally quite well stocked and classified and it's easy to find things. As more people have bought the books new and read them, they should filter through to second-hand stocks quite quickly. If you wait a little, they should also be available more cheaply second-hand via Amazon.

Oxfam is the biggest seller of secondhand books in Europe so it's worth searching there if the library won't get it.

I do library calls at work and know that they can order books in different counties and do a inter library exchange
