So did you click PVC Leveller.......?
Like you I believe there are horses for courses, there are instances where timber sash is THE only solution, there are cases like this one where PVC is THE solution, its just TOO many people have fitted bad designs, inappropriate styles (casements, tilt turns) that pretended to be sash that has created a stigma to PVC.
I hate bad products of any material, not the material itself.
I'd like to invite you to see a quality PVC sash installed correctly and hear your feedback.Buying quality goods which last, should be an investment that saves money. :T
Buying cheap products which fail, wastes money and costs twice as much in the long run. :mad:0 -

None......yet;).
uPVC all the way.0 -
Timber windows are a more expensive option than UPVc but with a ten year no painting guarantee and a thirty year guarantee against preservative failure, value for money is excellent. More than this, timber windows which are full of character and high quality guarantees, will add value to your property.0

UPVCMixed feelings, the fact its a bungalow will make maintenance of timber stupendously easier.
However I voted upvc as yes wood CAN last and CAN look better, IF well maintained. But in reality its one of those jobs that can always wait as there is something more urgent needs doing until one day they are a bit too rotten and a lot of work is needed.
I know its up to the homeowner to do the right thing, I am just being realistic for SOME people, like me who are always snowed under.0 -
TimberI voted timber - just can't stand upvc and being a bungalow they will be easy to paint. No draughts on new good timber frames.
Also to think about the sustainability aspect - how long will a upvc frame take to degrade in the landfill once it's been ripped out and replaced with timber my the new owner?0 -
UPVCFor low maintenance why not look at PVC that looks like Timber. I had the Evolution Storm range fitted in my home and I am very pleased with it. It looks just like a timber window!!0

UPVCvoted Upvc because of the pensioner aspect
if it was a younger couple then timber frames as they would be able to paint every x years.
nowt wrong with Upvc it has it place and I have Upvc with alu cladding in my house and it looks good and didn't cost a bomb.63 mortgage payments to go.
Zero wins 2016 😥0
