Been looking on ebay at Air Miles, what's the actual value of 1000 Air Miles and 500?One hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.0

I want to book 2 flights to US but am 10,000 points short - any suggestions how I quick get some points. It costs £175 from BA to but that amount of miles which negates the value of the offer.0

Based on Clubcard points value:
60 Air Miles = £2.50
600 BA Miles = £2.50
BA Miles are typically WORTH 3-4 times the Clubcard Points value, although it depends a lot on destination.
An example: 25000 BA Miles (£104.16) + £180 taxes curently (for flights upto end of May 07) can get you a flight worth between £580 (non flexible) and £800 (flexible), so a Clubcard point is worth between 4p and 6p. BA Miles get you flexible fares, so arguably they are worth the higher figure, although their base value could be compared to the non-flexible price, from an MSE perspective.
At normal conversion rates, when 50000 BA Miles gets you that fare, it follows that they are only worth 2p to 3p.
The problem is, the BA Miles 'price' is fixed, whereas the 'money price' varies with demand and flight times, so your BA Mile can be worth more or less.
Also varies on different destination bands as well.
Don't know about Air Miles though, however as Air Miles BV is OWNED by British Airways, it is fairly likely that an Air Mile is worth 10 times a BA Mile, given the Tesco conversion rate.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -

There is no quick way of doing this other than buying the BA Miles from BA, apart from:
Hiring lots of cars through Avis
Staying in Marriott hotels
Using Travelex for foreign exchange transactions.
If you're really desperate and have £10k hanging around, you could buy £10k of foreign currency I suppose, then change it straight back somewhere else (as Travelex won't give you the BA Miles if you use buyback!!) if you can find a higher rate (such as M&S possibly...), otherwise you will lose out on the conversion rate.
Travelex are crap at awarding BA Miles - I've always had to remind them after the 30 day deadline has passed.
Note that I've never tried this - it may be possible or you may get lifted for money laundering....
Depends where you are flying and when as well.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0
