BT have fitted a new master socket and the new BT VDSL Interstitial faceplate at Penrhyn Castle
For those wishing to get rid of all their dangling microfilters this is a neat solution that can be fitted without the need to rewire the lower faceplate.
Data sheet here.

Similar but not quite the same. The VDSL faceplate is (I believe) for FTTC connections, hence the RJ45 port. The ADSLNation faceplate has an RJ11 port, for ADSL/ADSL2/ADSL2+ connections.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.0 -
Thats what the BT guy replaced mine with he said they used them for FTTC connections, but they are backwards compatible. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Pressac sell unbranded sockets and make branded sockets for Openreach.
Sockets with the Openreach logo on them are not for sale on the open market.

Indeed, good thing I got mine from the Openreach engineer.

You are correct.
They do the same thing.
One output is connected straight through and goes to the RJ45 port for FTTC or the RJ11 for ADSL and the other port in both cases is the filtered one for the voice phone connection.
Goodness knows whether the filters are the same in the ADSL ones and the FTTC ones........0
