Hi all,
Me and the wife have tickets to see Blur at Hyde park on the 12th August of this year.
I have been looking for a hotel for the 11th, 12th and 13th of August but it seems due to the Olympics everything seems to be between £100 - £150 a night apart from hostels etc. I am not looking for a flash hotel just an average room etc and half decent location that wouldnt involved travelling miles to get to central london etc
Anyone any ideas?
Thanks

To be honest if you can get any room for £100-£150 I would consider it.
Rooms seem to be double the usual rate.June challenge £100 a day £3161.63 plus £350 vouchers plus £108.37 food/shopping saving
July challenge £50 a day. £ 1682.50/1550
October challenge £100 a day. £385/£31000 -
I would also say, if you are seeing rooms at that price snap them up, London hotel rooms are not cheap at the best of times..0

Just had a look and a lot of hotels are booked up already for those dates. The Premier Inn at Kensington Olympia which is near Earls Court station has double rooms for £159 for Sat and Sunday and £79 for the Monday. It is about 15 (5 stops on the tube) minutes via tube from Earls Court to Marble Arch for the gig at Hyde Park involving one change at NottingHill.0

Good advice, as the journey would be direct so save a bit of time with the added bonus that if the weather was good, the mile walk through the park to where the gigs usually are would be pleasant. Also as the Marble Arch station is nearer to the gig, I would imagine Hyde Park Corner Station will be less busy going home for the O.P.0 -
Thanks for all your help0

Try Easyhotel. They are coming up at around £70 a night for those dates.0

We're in exactly the same boat, with the Blur tickets and wanting to stay in London 11th - 13th August.
I would bite someone's hand off if I could find rooms as cheap as £100 a night, would you mind telling me where they were so I can take a look?
I've tried the Premier Inn someone mentioned earlier in the thread, it's £350 now
Thanks.0 -
Try a comparison website like trivago as you can sometimes find bargains from websites you wouldn't of looked at before.
As for finding a room near £100, if you want a decent-ish hotel then from what I've seen you'll be looking at nearer £150-200 a night.0 -
trivago pulls off GDS pricing, so i would not expect any bargains there that are not available direct0
