Try a comparison website like trivago as you can sometimes find bargains from websites you wouldn't of looked at before.

As for finding a room near £100, if you want a decent-ish hotel then from what I've seen you'll be looking at nearer £150-200 a night.

I've already tried Trivago and loads of other comparison sites. There is a hostel for £305 but whilst I'm happy to have a very basic hotel room given the dates being within the Olympics, I draw the line at a shared dorm I'm afraid!

Just was hoping someone may have a tip - I shall keep on looking!

We're in exactly the same boat, with the Blur tickets and wanting to stay in London 11th - 13th August.

I would bite someone's hand off if I could find rooms as cheap as £100 a night, would you mind telling me where they were so I can take a look?

I've tried the Premier Inn someone mentioned earlier in the thread, it's £350 now :(

    Thanks.

Regarding the PI it is still £157 per night for Sat and Sunday and £79 for the Sunday so £393 for the 3 nights which works out £131 per night as OPs budget was up to £150 per night. I doubt you will get anything nearish the Blur gig for £100 a night unless you consider something like student Uni accomodation with shared bathroom etc, but maybe you could consider staying outside London and travelling in?

Hmm that's weird. I've just been on to check again on that Premier Inn. We're only staying 11th to 13th, so 2 nights (checking out on 13th), and that is now giving me £318 total.

The £131 per night you mention would have sounded much more tempting, at at that location it would be great, as it's not even that far on the tube. How are you getting it to come up at that price please?

Not looking to stay outside London and travel in - we did consider it, but ultimately if we can't find somewhere we'd rather pay more than have such a big journey. Whereas we're happy to travel across London (to a point!).

I realise I'm probably after a miracle :D But I want to make sure I've tried everything before I end up booking somewhere awful that's an hour's commute away for £350 lol.

You could try the London School of Economics link for student accomodation as an economy twin works out £141 for two people for the 3 nights in total including breakfast at High Holburn. It looks like you have your own twin room but share bathroom facilities. 5 minute walk to Covent Garden tube. 30 minutes walk from there to Hyde Park. 5 minute direct journey on the tube from Covent Garden station to Hyde Park Corner station.

It is £157 per night for Sat and Sunday and cheaper at £79 for the Monday and as OP is staying 3 nights (not two) this is the total of the 3 nights which is £393 divided by three which is £131 per night, but as you are only staying two nights the rate is £157 per night for the Sat and Sunday if that makes sense.

I did not realise you were staying Sat and Sunday only and the LSE link shows £94 for 2 nights at the High Holburn with breakfast for the dates you want. Although Student accomodation, the location is really good.

Also a double en-suite at Grosvenor House, Covent Garden is £142 for the two nights with breakfast it is £152 in total (but this is at High Holburn which is 5 mins walk away it says on website). Apparently each studio has its own kitchen area and bathroom so this might be more what you are looking for. Great location just minutes from Covent Garden main area. Reviews her on trip advisor.

For some reason I didn't get a notification about your last post.

Thank you for the LSE tip - tripadvisor reviews look good, it's really central, and only 4 stops from the gig.

Almost seems too good to be true!! Have just booked, total of £145 for both nights :D

Thank you so much, have saved us a fortune and it's even in a fantastic location.

Try travelodge at Feltham, its right next to train station Feltham to Waterloo in 30 mins then about tube/bus to Hyde Park. A bit out but great transport links
