Suidreams - really sorry to hear about your aunt, thoughts are with you and your family, take care xxAll you need is less0

Suidreams and Kax, sorry about your respective relatives, it is so hard when our older ones become ill and die. HUGS.
On a much more frivolous note, I am rather proud of myself today, OH and I visited Cheshire Oaks Outlet site, I went into Body Shop, Molten Brown, M&S, L'Occitane and an extremely tempting shop selling Clinique, Estee Lauder, Ojon, Bobi Brown and Origins, the prices were really good, but I managed to resist:j
Not such a good result in Timberland, hauled a great pair of winter boots for £36 and a full length 80% down 20% feather black coat with hood for £39 and OH got a pair of boots for £36 too (not the same as mine lol)
I don't expect to be as good tomorrow in Chester, where I expect to find good sized Boots and Superdrug, no SD where I live and only a weeny Boots. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
LadyM, well done on turning down the mascara, so hard to do when you're drained I imagine.
I spoke to my Aunty at 4pm and she was about 30 miles away so she was going to miss the afternoon visiting slot. I said if she just went straight there anyway, they would probably let her in briefly if she explained how far she'd come. We always do. I expect she'll ring me later when she's had a chance to get herself sorted out. I had a very informative message from another poster on here who has given me lots of details about care agencies up there. So we're all set if it's as mild(ish) as I think it is.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
Kaz and SuiDreams, sympathies. I hope you can focus on the happy times you had with the family members you've lost or who are ill.
Lady M, you are being very brave and I know that things will get better for you. Stay positive.0 -
sorry to hear that Suidreams and Kaz x
my great aunt is also in hospital and they don't think she will hold on much longer than a few days
LadyM- your DH sounds so sweet
I was in town today feeling bored (not a good mix!) so went to the shiny new superdrug. It's actually really nice- everything is neat and tidy and all the testers are clean and new! Of course this meant I had to go to the sleek stand (I can actually stand there without being pushed by someone!) and was tempted by the storm palette. I have been lusting after an UD palette so I guess this is the cheaper option. And I don't have many eyeshadows and there is a wedding next month so I think I've justified that...
also bought natural collection caramel shortcake lipgloss- the only gloss I have is nivea and as I don't like it that much I thought I would buy another. BUT I didn't get sucked into the 3 for £5 like I usually do
and 2 cans of sure as it was 2 for £4- I'm using mitchum at the moment and I'm really not liking it. With sure, I put it on in the morning and forget about it. With this I can smell a not entirely pleasant smell and I'm really conscious of it. I know it's a HG for people but I'm sticking to sure. It's only a small can so hopefully won't last long
I've lost so many long posts on here before I just highlight and copy before postingToiletry spend £34.95 In: 10 out:130 -
Suidreams and Kaz so sorry to hear your sad news, my Grandad is very poorly at the moment too, its so difficult when loved ones get older and frail
Lady M Glad you managed to get out and about and enjoyed the film. Well done on the mascara!I don't expect to be as good tomorrow in Chester, where I expect to find good sized Boots and Superdrug, no SD where I live and only a weeny Boots.
Chester has a fairly impressive Boots but the Superdrug is surprisingly small and tucked away down a side street. Also watch out for Space.NK, L'Occitane, Molton Brown, Browns etc (although if you managed to dodge the outlet shops at Cheshire Oaks, I'm sure you'll be fine)
Few more IN and UU this week:
Firstly the IN, which are purely incidental :A 2 x conditioner that comes with hair colour, L'Oreal Excell 10 - don't count the dye as I never had more than one set aside but the conditioners will go towards the stash so better declare those!
I've also got my eye on the No. 7 BB Cream as this seems to have better reviews than the Garnier one but it doesn't seem to be stocked in my local store which is odd as they've got the rest of the Beautiful Skin range - have cast my eye across Ebay but would be just as well to purchase in store with £5 voucher etc. Manchester on Friday so may pick some up there.
UU - FCUK Polished moisturising body wash - small 75ml bottle, WBA if they still do it, creamy and nice scent, left my skin feeling soft
Schwarzkopf Gliss Colour Protect conditioner - WNBA - Bargain price, smells lovely etc but just does not agree with my hair which it leaves generally unruly. Probably just my hair to be honest but it doesn't do a good job of keeping it under control
S&G Glad Hair Day Shampoo - Don't think I'd BA, a little underwhelmed with this, persevered with most of the bottle for my hair before using up the last fifth or so as handwash for which it did the job nicely, getting the hang of this thinking outside the toiletry box and re-purposing things :T
I've also Ebayed a few things but that was mostly makeup which I don't dare add to the stash just yet - maybe when its shrunk a little more
Another foul week at work, toying with applying for another very non-supervisory position, seriously some people want blood, mine apparently :rotfl: Have to laugh! Will have a chat with OH and see what he thinks, I don't want to make any rash decisions, have been in the department I work for for eight years now and I have a very good boss, I actually really like the work itself, the problem is some of the people
Enjoy your evening everyone, I'm thinking a nice soak in the bath and some bath bomb usage to boost the UU0 -

Big hugs to Suidreams, Kaz and adilade. My thoughts are with you all - take care.
Am jealous of your trip to Cheshire Oaks Maddiemay (though I remember I'm the one who encouraged it!). I love visiting there. They had closed the Body Shop when I was there last so it's good to see that there is a new one open. Love the Molten Brown and L'Occitane shops too. Re the Cosmetics Company Store I've never found anything that I've wanted to buy in there and I think that's purely because it does seem to be old stock in there.
I also like the Boots store that is on the Colisseum shopping park next door.
I have my first UU of March: 30ml tube of Origins Modern Friction. As I've said on the previous thread I've had a love/hate thing with this product. Firstly, I'd like to thank my SS for sending this to me as I'd probably never have taken the chance on buying it even though I've wanted to try it. My first impressions of this were that it was wonderful and I found it very economical to use as a small application was enough for my face and neck. However a couple of times I found that it stung (this was if I left it on too long) and sometimes made my skin feel tight and dry. I was impressed that the 30ml tube lasted 2 months (I was assuming it was a sample size) however when it started to splutter I cut the tube open but then had to use the last application on other parts of my body as I'd noticed that the consistency had changed dramatically after cutting the tube. This has made me wonder whether the pots of Modern Friction are worth buying if the product can turn so quickly once exposed to air. All in all am grateful for getting the chance to try but would not buy it myself.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

ems, sorry your Granddad is poorly. Just waiting for DH to get out of the bath so I can get in it.
Spoke to my Aunty. Uncle is doing well. He's up and able to walk a little. Speech isn't great and she's not sure about his understanding but thinks it could be deafness too. She's now back at his house with a ready meal and is starving. I've advised her to throw away the meal and eat the box.
Fingers crossed he won't be in for too long. He may well be able to return home with minimal care if any. Just wath and wait now and hope he doesn't have another one. Hopefully they'll have a really tight control on his INR as I suspect it's his AF which has caused the clot in the first place. That or his blood pressure.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
Some UUs, TAs and INs.....
UU Sanctuary body souffle. WIBA? Hell, yes. It's gorgeous. Don't think I'd buy anything else. It melts into your skin, smells beautiful and leaves your skin soft. Will concentrate on reducing the stash of inferior body creams in the meantime.
TA a Biore face mask (think it was called anti-shine or something). Realised I'd had it for about 4 years and I don't think stuff like that keeps well. So adios, face mask.
TA some Nivea factor 12 that I'd had for 2 years, for similar reasons.
I keep most of my stash in a massive wicker basket under the sink and I've really noticed it going down, which encourages me. I just need to make inroads in the piles of fake tan.......
INs........a Dove deodorant roll on (recommended by the lovely ladies on this thread......down to last half bottle of Nivea double action, which I shall be scathing about when it runs out), plus a carmex lip balm (actually used last lip balm on holiday, a day I thought I'd never see) and in moment of weakness used £5 voucher against no 7 'beautiful skin' cleansing balm because the current incumbent from the Sanctuary is running out. Was only £4 with voucher so opportunity was knocking.
Had NPI with no 7 face illuminator after receiving another £5 voucher, but stayed resolute. I have enough flipping face highlighters to last me until 2018!!!!0 -
I use TCB too for the same reason. Didn't know they rate matched.
Yes if you keep note of the higher rate you can raise a claim, I've done this a couple of times when Q was slightly better and they've adjusted it to match.:DLife is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.
Take time but don't waste time0
