Blocking Russian Federation

Right thats it I've had enough and I'm blocking the Russian Federation.
I've had 2 losses this year both insisting on refunds after 12 days. The latest one issuing threats and sending emails about being a nasty seller (3 emails in the space of 15 minutes) . I've refunded even though it hasn't been 2 weeks and reported emails to Ebay. Looking at their feedback it does seem they never leave any feedback for sellers, so hopefully that's the end of it.
The only other country in Europe I have blocked is Italy and now the Russian Federation joins them. I can accept that losses happen, I cannot accept the fact that buyers have to start being unpleasant when a simple 'hi my item hasn't arrived yet' email would have got the same result.

I agree - post to Russia is too unreliable!
My last parcel to Russia took 3 months to reach the buyer, by which time I had refunded her and sent a lost item claim to Royal Mail!0 -
I only sell within the UK but a russian buyer got round it by using a UK shipping agent called Alfaparcel
I decided to go through with the sale rather than risk bad feedback
Not heard anything so far but no feedback left yet0 -

I sometimes look at the 'feedback left for others' to root out potential problem buyers - Im sure other sellers must do this too
It would make sense for a dodgy buyer not to leave feedback for this reason
Shame sellers can't leave negatives anymore warning other sellers0 -

well an update on this: one of my buyers has received their item and has now asked to repay, I am just waiting for the payment to go through.
I have never believed this was due to Russian buyers being dishonest, I think like Italy the postal service is at fault. My gripe was that buyers can be very aggressive in asking for refunds, when a simple 'sorry my item hasn't arrived' is enough.
Mind you I have just sold an item to Belarus , so fingers crossed.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I have also had dealings lately with Russia, and my buyer insisted on having the item sent by International Signed For at his cost. Not heard anything, so assume it got there ok.
I think sometimes, their English isn't very good (but then my Russian is non-existant) and they can come across as being rude without meaning to.
Good luck with Belarus SoolinYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
I recently sold an item for much more than I expected to the Russian Federation, and the buyer insisted on paying for ISF, as she said it's the only post that's treated with any seriousness or respect within Russia. It got there safely (and quickly).0

Arghh, I've just had the rudest email from a buyer in the Netherlands as his item hasn't arrived and eBay told him it would take 3-5 working days! I checked my listing and for UK buyers it says posted within 2 days second class so arrival approx 5-7 days (that's eBay estimates for UK buyers not even European ones)
I've asked him to wait until week 2 but I suspect he will open a case as he has virtually no feedback despite quite a lot of purchases (so sellers not happy to leave him feedback) and the only bits of feedback he has ever left consist of 2 positives mentioning sellers resolving items not arriving. His email though is appallingly I'll mannered, you would have thought I'd cheated him out of the Crown jewels from the tone of it.
So, I am happy to confirm (per another thread running) that I have blocked him across all my accounts, it was either that or block all bidders from the Netherlands and I haven't had that many issues sending thereI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I have had a lovely mail from my Russian buyer. We put an extra item in with his order, and you would have thought I had given him the world, but he does say it is something he has been trying to get for ages. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0

I was in PO yesterday and the lady got a message about no parcels being posted to Russia? The Fields are Green, The sky is blue, the River Nene goes winding through, The market square is Cobblestoned, It shakes the old dears to their bones, A finer town you'll never see, A finer town they'll never be, Big city lights don't bother me, Northampton Town I'm proud to be!0

From Royal Mail website:
Russia
Start date: 1st March 2012
End date: Ongoing
Please note that there are delays in mail distribution to Russia. We are experiencing delays of 3 to 5 days for mail being delivered in Russia, mainly due to delays in the Russian Office of Exchange and mail capacity into Russia. Royal Mail will work closely with Russia Post to ensure that services resume to normal as soon as possible. Our delivery aim for Russia is normally 3-5 working days.0
