The phone was yours from the start.
Beware, that the contract doesn't end in 5 months and you have to terminate it by giving a 30 days notice or by requesting PAC and porting number to another network.

So if i phoned and gave 30 days notice of cancellation today, they would send me a bill of approx £50 for remaining period and i could keep phone?

    Yes.
Terms and conditions of service - Pay Monthly Contract
    2.2 and 10.5

However, I don't see any point in not using the services that you can use. IMO a teenager can survive for 5 months with 100+100.

You can also set a cap with Virgin online. I think the lowest was £50 some years ago, but there may be a lower option now. It's not ideal but it does limit any potential damage.

If you reach the cap you get a text to let you know and outgoing calls are barred. You can still receive incoming calls and texts.

SORRY never meant to sound rude but a 2 year contact with an allowance of just 100 mins and 100 texts a month sound a little unrealistic for a 14 year old!
its about 3 texts a day over the month! how many 14 year old you know would send just 3 texts a day? imo the op was just asking for trouble! if he has not got a girlfriend yet just wait untill he has he will be sending 3 texts a minute then haha :D
again apologies for my first response.

Agreed. I have two sons and they send between 700 to 1500 a month each on average.
  • I have had trouble with virgin but have usely come out ok.

Even though not a Virgin media customer they have given me 100mins 3000texts 3000 virgin-virgin calls for £5.11 a mth. Took some haggling but got it in the end.

Next time get a andriod phone and put whats app on so he can text without using his text allocation.

You would be better starting a new thread but what do you mean "has not worked at all abroad"?
