Tom Tom and speeding tickets.

All this stuff will probably bundled in when they introduce road pricing.
They will will be able track where very car is and how fast it is being driven. You will probably be required to enter your driving licence number into the system before you can start the car so that there won't be any arguments over who was actually driving at the time.0 -
Nah, you'll have to insert your photocard and it will read the barcode off it, then a camera in the dashboard will compare the image to the photograph the DVLA have. Then it will refuse to let you drive because you're wearing sunglasses today.
Meanwhile, criminals will insert a bit of cardboard with someone else's barcode, on it and hold up a photograph to the camera.0 -
1. How would my TomTom know which car it is being used in? You don't programme it with your number plate.
2. How would my TomTom 'transmit' this data to TomTom central? It receives satellite data - to my knowledge it doesn't send data back.
3. It would be commercial suicide, even if it were technically possible.
Speed away.
TomToms flash red if you are more than 10% over the speed limit. Though sometimes the speed limit they think the road is subject to is incorrect. There's a section of dual carriageway near us (70 limit) that TomTom thinks is a 30. I'd be getting speeding tickets left right and centre if this story were true.0 -

It uses the SIM card in that provides Live Services. Trafficmaster already use Vodafone SIMs to provide jam data. The man without a signature.0 -

So is it possible that the guy that told me this was right? When I updated the devise I noticed that I have to press that I agree to something when before I never?
Oh gosh I don't know what to think know.
Did you read the story? It is about Tom Tom data being used to decide where to put speed cameras, not used to prosecute drivers who speed.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0 -
Tomtom Live Traffic update already takes your speed and location from your TomTom( Once you give permission) to allow Tomtom to advise Traffic conditions and allow your statnav to recaulate the best route. but They state they will not pass the information on. My Stat nav does not have a sim card but sends information to TomTom0
