nissan x trail blower stuck on full

Any ideas roughly how much it will cost to get my car blower fixed? Today when I went into the car the blowers were on full and when I switched them off, they stayed on full.

I can't adjust the power but the temp dial still works. I have read stuff online about power switches melting but this is all US or Aus forums where they have said it costs $100's to fix.

The car is a 54 plate nissan x trail 2.2 litre turbo diesal if it makes any difference.

Yes, do you know if it will do any damage to the car if I don't manage to get it into the garage this week to get it looked at?

Why? My "blower" is on full for 5-6 months of the year.

Just pull out the appropriate fuse.

I wouldn't have a clue where to find a fuse! I read on an american forum that the 'switch' may have melted. I'll get it to the garage and hope for a cheap solution.

I could be wrong . . . but I would imagine the heater fan doesn't actually run whilst the ignition is turned off. Not really likely to burst into flames is it?

OP: No idea of the cost of a new switch but depending on how easy it is to get at it, replacing it could be a bit pricey (possibly buried deep in the dashboard?)

The handbook will tell you where the fuse is located.

Well Lee, he is actually a she and I meant it is on all the time when the engine is on, not 24/7.
