Can you be more specific about this countdown you're seeing please. If there is a message of any kind, the exact text would help.

Also, make and model of netbook?
How do I add a signature?

unfortunately I think your only option is to get hold of one. Certainly the easiest way to do it. You can get them around £20-30 from ebay (outlet shops from likes of currys, e-buyer, etc) or actual computer shops online, or if you wanna pay over the nose, but have it in your hand tommorow, from PC world, and comet, currys etc. Argos have some from £39.99.

If you know someone with a netbook, they might have one.

Also make sure the recovery disk you have is the right one for the netbook. Usually you have to create it yourself, unless you bought the disks when you bought the netbook (or occasionally are available to download/create from the web/extremely rarely!)

  • now no blue screen just the same black screen with the same old msg,, it reads as follows

We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this.

If your computer stopped responding, restarted unexpectedly, or was automatically shut down to protect your files and folders, choose Last Known Good Configuration to revert to the most recent settings that worked.

If a previous startup attempt was interrupted due to a power failure or because the Power or Reset button was pressed, or if you aren't sure what caused the problem, choose Start Windows
    Normally.

    Safe Mode
    Safe Mode with Networking
    Safe Mode with Command Prompt

Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked) Start Windows Normally

Use the up and down arrow keys to move the highlight to your choice.

    Seconds until Windows starts: 30

    thanks
