Your valuable comment has been noted, thankyou.
It would have been even more valuable if it referred to the series in question.

It did (with the information you gave)

What I've never worked out, because I delete my downloads before the 30 days, is it 30 days from download, or 30 days from first opening?

I thought it was 30 days from when the BBC made it available. I once downloaded a program the day before it was removed from iPlayer and when I tried to watch it a couple of days later it wouldn't play because it had expired.

I haven't downloaded anything since. Have the BBC changed this?

I think you are probably right about that, I don't watch anything 'live' as I don't have a tv license. I download anything I want to watch after it goes to a catchup service. I use i-player a lot and I have noticed that even though it says on the download that it will be available until a certain date, its often not.
Once you start to watch a programme, the date it is available for changes and it says it is available for the next 6 days, after that, it disappears.
There has often been programmes I would have liked to have saved, like I used to do when I recorded them on video, but didn't think that was possible now when recording them from i-player. Also its not always possible to download from some of the other channels, although the programme can be watched from the service directly while its still available,
