Unfortunately not. You might set up a callthrough account that uses a London access number and then charges you for the international part of the call, like Call 18185 which charges from a penny a minute, or maybe Voipbuster as it has no connection charge and many destinations are free.

If you call mobiles abroad, you might use 18185 and a suitable 07744 or 0870 number, probably from PlanetTalkFree or Yourcallworld

guys watch out here as i got stung.

i used a 0844 company to use up my 02 inclusive minutes:

    08444522473

on my bill i had not been charged for making calls last month, they were all taken out of my inclusive minutes. the call portion to the company as well as the international bit.

this month they have charged me for the international portion.

looks like all these companies will keep quiet and not ask your mobile provider for any money on your account until the usage is high.

they they will as someone like 02 and you get stung.

    be aware

It does not work like that

If international calls actually appear on your bill, it is because you have dialled them by pressing the send key after the second number, thus putting the first call on hold and making simultaneous calls

i have it automatically recorded into my phone so i never actually dial the numbers its set on auto dial using the pause buttons.

have always used this method and never been charged before.

included is a screenshot showing that i did not receive dual charges for the period i was on the call.

Actually, as I suggested, that shows you have indeed made concurrent calls, starting about 30 or 40 seconds apart, and the 0844 apparently cutting off after a while because you had entered no number. O2 cannot know the international number unless you dialled it on your account with them.

    12:11:05 0844... 5:29
    12:11:39 0091... 31:07

    12:43:14 0844... 5:40
    12:43:51 0091... 26:10

    13:17:05 0844... 5:47
    13:17:45 0091... 11:58

I think your discussion might have been better off on another thread, as it is not about callthrough possibilities from Vodafone

    hi thanks for your thoughts.

i contacted 02 who said they received a bill from the other telephone company for the portion of the call through their service.

02 said my inclusive minutes were valid until i went into the international companies service. thereafter even dialling through the other company they billed 02 for calls i made through their service.

i asked how can they bill 02 as my contract is with 02, apparently they say they can as i used their service to make the calls.

i will monitor this but just beware is all i say, thanks for the advice.

Did you get the name of the person you spoke to & which call centre they worked @ as they have 100% made up what they have told you?

I doubt it as the explanation given looks both mis-stated and misunderstood.

If I dial a number that has been forwarded, that is the number that appears and is charged on the bill, not the unknown destination.

If using say a calling card or 18185 account, the London access number appears on the bill, and the ongoing call comes off the card or 18185 account. With these 0844 numbers there is no need for an account with the intermediate company as they share the revenue from the 0844 call that does appear.

I'm not techical about how caller and other ID fields are forwarded, but I disbelieve that there is any need or mechanism for feeding back the onward-dialled number.
