  • Hi I have just received £1200 from the Halifax and I am on a bit of a ppi mission now. I contacted ford credit and they basically said if its over 6 years old then they don't have the info BUT if I have reference number then they could help. I had a new car on options every 9 months from 1992 -2000 so could potentially be a nice amount .
So I'm thinking maybe a good reputable ppi company could help as better to have 75% of something than 100% of nothing which right now is what I have from ford credit
Any suggestions or thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated . I would never have needed ppi as I get 100% sick pay form24 months , a redundancy that would be worth a years wage plus benefits and various death in service benefits

Doesnt matter that you wouldn't hve needed it, they weren't regulated until January 2005 and can dismiss any complaint.

Except that most car dealers were not regulated until January 2005.

And how do you think a CMC would help?

  • Hi thanks for your reply . I didn't realise that they could dismiss a claim if it was before 2005 . My ppi claim with Halifax was from 1991 I just thought if I complained then they had to investigate. It appears I have been lucky with regards to the Halifax. Also I thought the a ppi company might be ble to access records that I would not have the ability or the knowledge to do . Oh we'll neverind Ford credit 1 me 0 💩

Banks have to consider pre-regulation complaints as they were members of an earlier body.

That would be unlawful if they did.

  • Ok makes sense really but thought it might be worth a shot . Thanks for your reply x
  • Hello,

Can I just ask a quick question.

Where do I stand if I claimed when I was made redundant, so was getting my loan paid for?
I assume I cannot then claim it was mis-sold, regardless of whether I wanted it or not when taking out the loan ?

    Thanks
    Frosty
  • If I passed my details to a PPI company over the telephone, including name of bank and former address details, have I entered into a contract with them? I agreed to 33% 😁 but have now changed my mind and would like to contact bank myself. I haven't received anything in the post and therefore haven't signed anything.
No - they have to put it in writing and you have to accept it in writing. Although this can be done online, a telephone call is, by definition, not in writing.

Where on earth do you work that gives 2 years full pay sick leave and a years salary as redundancy pay? Are they hiring?

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
