Is there anyone who knows the answer to this please ????
Hi All I wonder if anyone can help me I have just come across some paperwork that we had from Legal and General which says it is mortgage payment insurance in the event of unemployment is this the same as PPI. I know at the time we were told that we had to have the mortgage payments covered and so we had to take out this insurance is this a mis sold policy ??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.0 -
Some years ago, I had an Allders Store Card on which I paid PPI. I vaguely remember the payments going to GE Capital (I think it had been to another Company initially). I discovered that I should never have been sold this PPI because, in order to make a claim on it, I would have needed to have worked for a certain minimum number of hours per week which I did not at that time do. As I only worked 16.5 hours I would never have been able to make a claim. Unfortunately, this did not come to light until after I no longer had the Store Card. Also, I had no idea that I would subsequently be able to re-claim the payments so I have not kept any of the relevant paperwork. Allders is now in Administration. Does anyone have any idea if I stand a chance of reclaiming PPI in this case and, if so, how I could go about it? Any advice gratefully received!0

Yes it is the same - but very few mortgage PPI complaints are upheld.
Hopefully someone can elaborate a bit more for you.0 -
Posting for my brother inlaw here, he's got a secured loan with beneficial, the loans still running, he's told me he gets cash back at the end, is this one of there's types of loans that charges ppi then gives you cash back if you don't claim??

Do you have any valid and verifiable complaint reasons?0 -
Hi all, I got a letter back a couple of weeks ago to say that Lombard Direct (RBS/Natwest) will pay out on a second loan I had with them. They claim the first and third loans didn't have PPI on them? I find this hard to believe if the middle loan did and these were all consolidation loans? I don't have paperwork and they claim they can't find the paperwork either to check, the loans were year on year 2002, 2003 and 2004....I have a final figure I cleared off in December 2005 through my online banking info. Just wanted some advice....x0

you need your own paperwork to verify your claims.
Institutions typically keep stuff for 6 years, maybe longer, maybe shorter. If they say they haven't got it, and you haven't got it, then you've had it.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Hi am hoping somebody can give me some advice. A couple of years ago I started a ppi reclaim against Intelligent Finance for my mortgage protection insurance and it seemed to be going well until the company I was using, Cartel, went bankrupt. We have been paying £55 a month for our insurance since we first took out our mortgage in 2004 and now has come to claim as my husband has been made redundant and there are so many clauses we can't get any money for over 4 months. I feel we were missold and were told at the time we had to take the policy with Paymentshield to get the mortgage. I have sent the standard letter to IF requesting a copy of our credit agreement and they have just sent a copy of our mortgage application form which doesn't really help. I'm now not sure of the next step and whether I should be approaching IF or Paymentshield?
Any advice greatly appreciated as we could really do with the money.
Thanks,
Sophie
This is not a reason for mis sell, this is how unemployment cover works, when your husband receives his redundancy pay this will include wages in lieu of notice, this is classed as income, when the wages in lieu period has passed then the insurance will kick in.0 -
