With the NR Mortgage only clearing in 08, call NR and ask if they can find you.
With the credit card, you need to send a Sar and request all info they hold on you not just the agreement, enclose £10 and give them 40 days to respond
Thanks for your advice amersall. Letter/Sar in the post to MINT first thing tomorrow.0 -

I don't know much about PPI but personally I feel that, it might be a bit risky to put in a claim just now. Perhaps it might not affect your claim but I'm not sure.
You are calling upon your Egg (Barcs) PPI to see you over this difficult period and it might be difficult to prove you were mis-sold the Platinum as you were happy with one but not the other. Personally, if it were me, I wouldn't risk losing the protection when you need it the most. No doubt there are others on the forum who may know more about this.
Good luck
Mo
Thank you for your response, this is what I suspected. One further thing has arisen though, while reading through the form that Barclays have sent me to actually claim protection money. It seems that if I am entitled to lieu of notice money (which I am), then I cannot claim it (payment protection) anyway. It doesn't seem to matter that this is money (lieu of notice) I won't see for at least 12 weeks, if not longer. I sort of feel like going for it because it seems nearly impossible to actually use this protection without going further into debt first.
Would anyone else risk it?0 -
You have valid reasons and I would put the claims in, did you pay the PPI in with the Loan monthly payment?, if you did then this is Single Pemium PPI , this was a Loan on the Loan that you paid back to term end with interest, if you wanted to cancel this PPI they would have given you a rebate of the PPI but the remaining PPI would still have been on to term end with interest, the same when you settled, you got a rebate but paid the remaining PPI back in the settlement figure, if your PPI was paid with the Loan as one payment, then use this SP as a reason for mis sell.
Thanks for your kind reply.
Yes I made one single repayment every month to the bank (no other payments are shown or taken out on bank my statements in relation to the loans). So excuse my ignorance but does it sound as if I paid for PPI with an up-front single premium which was added to the loans? If so is this classed as mis-selling? and should I use this as my main reason for claiming?, and would it be strong enough to use as a stand alone claim or should I include the other reasons as well as stated in my first post? Many Many thanks for your help.0 -

Hi Amersall, So its the total amount less rebate plus 8% of the final total. So the bit i dont understand is when the banks, financial institutions pay interest upto the day they send the cheque out, what interest is that then? Sorry if its sounding confusing.0

hi - i havebeen looking at this with interest - i have been constantly hassled by a firm wanting to clain ppi on my and my husband's behalf, initially they said it would be a couple of thousand, invited them round but i didnt have all the pwk and my husband had had to go out. only gave sketchy details to them about the mortgages etc and been avoiding their calls - then on wednesday this week they contacted my husband again and said that we are owed in the region of 35000 each plus up to 50000 compensation!!!! something about mortgage and insurance being missold? i am very wary of looking at this as i am not sure what can of worms i will open??? am i being scammed??
They will tell you anything to get you to sign them up, you have to get the Loan and CC numbers then the company posts the claim off
( the free one that is on this and the FOS website ) if you win a claim then they take a nice fee plus Vat, all for posting a letter, get back in touch with them and tell them a friend is doing this for you for free and you do not want then to do the claims for you, you will get all the help you need on this site for free, just ask, there is nothing more a claims co can do than you can do yourself, they will say anything to you so do not sign anything with them, ask for any paperwork you gave them back and post on here what you need to know and we will get you up and running, in some cases it is only a phone call to the bank that will get a claim started.
If they tell you they can get your claim done faster, more money back to you than you can get yourselves, then tell them according to FOS and MOJ this is rubbish.0 -

I would, go for the mis sell, if you win, the PPI is taken off the card and you save this amount each month, if you claim for redundancy, this will not pay the card until you have used your wages in lieu, and the PPI will still be charged on the card from there on in.0 -

Use your other reasons and the Single Premium
( this is how you paid yours) as the main reason, the SP is the most upheld of all PPI reclaims.0 -
My husband has had credit cards and loans - too many in the last 16yrs to mention
I know we can only go back 10 years for PPI's but he doesnt know what companies they were with or have the paperwork or anything
because of this we were going to use a claims company but they want us to give them all the info - which we just don't have!
is there any way to find out what companies he has had cards/loans with? or does anyone know a claims company that does the hunting down for you?
thankstotal debt Nov 13 - £3080
Make £10 a day Nov 13 £634.68/£300 (yeeha!)
1% = £32.45 5% cleared

All you have to do is put the account number and the reasons for mis sell, if this was a Loan the PPI may have been Single Premium if the PPI was paid in with the Loan monthly payment, this is the reason you use.
If it was a CC then use the card number and give the reasons why you were mis sold this, you do not need to know anything else such as the year you took it out or the PPI document number unless you know these, anything you do not know then just put that you cannot remember.
Thank you So much Amersall for the kind words.
Here is my story. I was sold 4 loans with PPI on them (single premium protection taken out every month). all 4 loans show Cash Loan amount and next to that Premium Loan amount and the total every month. the first loan was in 1999 then 2004 then 2005 then 2008. each loan was paying for the previous one as it shows on the Agreements.
In 1999 i was told this is how much is your loan with no reference to PPI being younger didn't think any different and took it as it is. when buying following loans I was told this is the only way you can guarantee a loan and had the impression from the sales person that he was on my side helping to get loan. if I knew PPI was optional and wouldn't affect the decision on my loan I wouldn't have taken it. If I knew I can get Protection elsewhere it would have been up to me to decide what to do.
Loan 1999 I had started a new job 1 year beforeIi took the loan. 3 months full pay and 3 months half pay.
Loan 2004 I had started a new job 3 years before i took the loan. 6 months full pay 6 months half pay plus a company share scheme i was paying in £150 every month and a company corporate health care scheme with BUPA
Loan 2005 I had started a new job 4 years before i took the loan. 6 months full pay 6 months half pay plus a company share scheme i was paying in £150 every month and a company corporate health care scheme with BUPA.
Loan 2008 I had started a new job 7 years before i took the loan. 6 months full pay 6 months half pay plus a company share scheme i was paying in £250 every month and a company corporate health care scheme with BUPA.
My Question is:
How do I word this in section E ( about my complaint), mainly the reasons why I am unhappy with the insurance.
I'd be so grateful for your help, And sorry for the long text.0
