  • Why is nothing simple?!

I just got a letter from Halifax about my PPI complaint. They said the insurance connected with the loan was sold directly by Halifax Insurance Ireland Limited, so the complaint had been passed onto them.

I've had a search but there's nothing on the forum.

    I swear I'm cursed ;)

On the Halifax website, they've got a number to ring and you can put your complaint in that way.

They do make it really easy, to give them credit where it's due!

A textbook case of speaking too soon I think. ;)
If Halifax have passed your complaint on, it doesn't mean it's been rejected out-of-hand of course.
Did you take out the loan in Ireland?

Hi, just wanted some advice please. We are waiting for our Halifax loan PPI payouts and was looking at paying off our CC with some of our win. On looking at the statements we have been paying repayment cover. I dont remember ever asking for this. We have had the CC several years I would say at least 20 we have had peaks and troughs in usage. Along with our other banking we check the balance and payment required on line and I'm embarrassed to say that never usually look at the paper statements. Is it worth putting in a claim before we pay it off? Also could someone please tell me what % the tax man takes from the 8% figure? Thanks in advance:) Lorraine

If you have the account number and valid reasons for complaint, then go for it!

It depends on your personal taxation situation, of course. But expect around 20%.
