This LINK is the latest official price list for cigs in Spain, Fortuna red (rojo) listed, as 20s, 24s and 25s. The price on the left is the normal, fixed, price in official tobacconist, brown sign yellow writing. The right hand column is the price from vending machines in bars etc.

The prices seem to be changing a bit, JPS were 2.30 Euros 2 weeks ago, 2:45 last week and 2:35 this week.
  • What`s the second column for?

Just what pompeyrich wrote in his/her post:

Sounds like you have booked the flight now, and with Easyjet into Barcelona Airport, which I would say is the way to go for some sightseeing as although the Ryanair flight to Reus or Girona is fine for a longer trip, the bus ride would be a real nuisance for a day trip.

The cigerettes I was buying, blue Lucky Strike were E2.65.

I'm sure you'll be aware to avoid tourist areas for a drink whilst you are out there, along Las Ramblas the prices are very steep, but just a road or so back the coffee and wine particularly were reasonable, even considering the problems with the currency.

Since they are for your own use, you can reasonably bring back as many as you will smoke before your next trip away although it does seem as though keeping under that suggested allowance is wise. You will love Barcelona and be going back for a long weekend within the year anyway!!

With rolling tobacco, I have heard that you may be asked to roll a roll up at the airport as a sort of test of your personal use. I think it took me about six months to learn to roll cigerettes successfully...
  • Hi,
As well as saving money on your cigs, you can take the No 1 Aeroporto Bus which will drop you in Placa Catalunya.Turn to your right when exiting the arrivals hall and you will see the bus stand (similar shelters to ours) Try and have the correct fare for the driver. Journey time 20-30 mins depending on traffic and time of day. When you get to Placa Catalunya. everyone gets off so you can't/won't get lost. Cross over the road and you are virtually at the top of Las Ramblas. Bus Fare Euro4.05 pp, one way. Same bus stop for return to airport. The 'Tabacs' shop sign are brown wording on a yellow background. I think the Taxi Fare is approx Euros 25 each way if you want to do it in style. Sally
