Your doing great and any payment at all is a step in the right direction.
    DEC GC £463.67/£450
    EF- £110/COLOR]/£1000
  • So this weekend I managed to:

    - £20 Tesco Christmas Saver
    - £3 Bonus
    - £7.05 into SPC
    - 12 mile run

I also got a pay out from PA and also an extra £5 from Circle using a lovely mse members referral code. So can send cc an extra payment of £90 and put the rest aside as have a few things that need paid this week.

    - Vets £100 at least (fingers crossed the rest is covered under insurance)
    - Nails £20 (This is a treat)
    - Birthday £20
    - Book MOT £30.50
    Total £170.50

    - EF £60.50 (this was the start of an EF but unfortunately have to use it)
    - Crochet £70
    - Leftover DHs wages £20
    Total £150.50

Only need another £20 and DH is still owed £40 in his wages so hopefully he will get that before Wednesday.

Meal plan is sorted for this week and have made a pot of soup for lunches, porridge bread for breakfast and going to make some banana bread in the morning from dying bananas. My mum loves this bread and going to visit her tomorrow so will bring her up some too.

The next two weekend will be busy ones and will also result in some spend. I did 12 miles today and few exhausted so going to head off to bed now.

    Night xx

It basically just 450-500g pot of yogurt, 2 yogurt pots of oats, 1tsp bicarbonate soda and a pinch of salt. It's quite dense. I added cinnamon, mixed spices, vanilla, maple syrup and raisins to give it a sweet flavour.

It's good to eat for my long runs so I have some put in the freezer for race day.

I am so excited.....I sent my cc the extra payment of £90 last night. :T

Imagine getting so excited about handing out cash like that. :rotfl:

But one thing I am feeling this morning is a weight lifted off my shoulders as I am facing my debts. I haven't been afraid to look at my bank account in the last few weeks as I would have just used my debit card to pay for this and that and it always ended up in my overdraft. Now I am just making sure I never use that card (its where all my monthly DDs come out off). And I don't feel afraid to look at the account now. I am actually exciting to go and balance it. :rotfl:

    You're doing great! x
  • Thanks, it will still be slow but better than sorting it rather than ignoring it.

I have also been looking in to other bits of debt that I have that doesn't include cc, mum and catalogue. I have mentioned my credit union but that will be paid out at the end of the year. I will take out another loan at some point to get work done to the house. For some reason I don't feel as if the cu is debt. I have over £2k in my account anyway so if I go as far at £2k it is a secured loan. I also have my car payments which I have another 2+ years to pay and of course the mortgage but just focusing on the smaller debt at the moment.

    - Work on crochet birthday gift ongoing
    - Pay £100 to vets
    - Get out training 3 days
    - Put £20 into Tesco Christmas Saver
    - Pot at least £7 into SCP
    - Nails

    August Goals
    - Update SOA
    - Sort through household paperwork
    - Ring Sky re: landline & broadband
    - Freezer inventory
    - Hoover Car
    - Ebay listings
    - Van MOT
    - Spending money for holidays
    - Cancel Halifax & Lloyds CC accounts

    Social Events
    - Work Night out
    - Half Marathon Post Celebrations

Future Goals the quicker I pay my debt, the quicker I can focus on these
    - Emergency Fund £1,000 – I will try and make a start on this now
    - 3-6 Months work of Salary Fund £12,000 (this is for both DH and I)
    - Pay off car and use that monthly payment as a car fund/work that needs to be done to car

So I am trying to get a bit of a plan for the month in my head and also in writing so I don't forget. And I am going to break it down week by week. Unfortunately there is a few carry overs from last week but I have just put them into my monthly goals so that I don't pressure myself into doing it all at once.

This week is a busy one with training, wee man going to the vets, the possibility of doing a bootcamp (its not on the list as it will be more than likely I'll not get) and also we have a work night on Friday. I am not sure if it will be a big spending night as we are having a BBQ first so its BYO and I have a bottle of gin in the house that will do. We will probably have to pay a small contribution to the BBQ but I have to figure that one out yet (yes I am the organiser, :D). The only other spend would be maybe a drink or two if we head on to a pub. You are always certain that some of the work guys will buy a round but I am not planning on drinking too much anyway as I can't do hangovers. There is also a flight festival here on Saturday which we will go to (so need to be hangover free) but there will be no money spent as we bring a picnic and the dogs come along too. There will be no visit to mums as she is away for the weekend so may an extra day at home I might get something done off the list.

I have also another day of celebrations this month and that is after I finish the half marathon. I am not sure of the plan here just yet but I am going with our club and there is a bus organised. I'll need to contribute to that along with getting food and celebatory drinks post race. I am not sure if that is planned at the race or nearer home as we have to cross the border meaning I would need Euros for some part of the day. I do have some stashed away from the last time we went across the border but was keeping it for holidays.

The only other thing we need to focus on money wise is DH's van MOT and gathering some spending money for the holidays. Fingers crossed we don't have to pay the vets anything more and also fingers crossed the weather stays ok so DH can get a decent enough wage this week.
